Moon in the eighth house. Does this make for a moody person? Anyone else with mo!

Question: I would think so, as eighth is ruled by Scorpio.
I know the level of moodiness (if this is true) would also depend on the sign. For me, its Gemini. I believe what this does, is make me moody, and not know which direction to take sometimes.

Is your moon in 8th, and what other placements do you have there? Are you moody?

Nope. The 8th House is identified with marriages, inheritance, legacies, financial affairs etc. Moon in the 8th house is advantages by marriage and legacy if it's well-aspected and it increases the number of children though there is a chance that some of them may not live long and prosper. If the Moon is afflicted, the finances change for the worse after marriage and if inheritances, if any, bring lawsuits with them and then you lose.

The 12th house would be more likely to effect moods, depressions etc. Moon in the 12th house if well-aspected might mean success in work that's done in seclusion away from other people, or work in prisons, hospitals or charitable institutions. There's a liability to become involved in clandestine love-affairs but if the moon is well-aspected a person will more likely keep this a secret. If the Moon is afflicted, there's danger of secret enemies, trouble and persecution, all of which contributes to moodiness, depressions and other mental downers.

My moon is in the 8th, and I can't really say if it's the cause of my moodiness sometimes, since my Sun is in opposition of my Moon. (Big internal conflict sign there.)

But to make someone moody, wouldn't their Moon be in 4th house, instead? Because the 4th house is governed by Cancer, after all, and Cancer is the moodiest of all signs.

There is no credible evidence that the Sun's
position in the zodiac at the time someone was
born has any effect on their lives.

Astrology is mysticism.

Why are you promoting mysticism? It simply
means that people stop asking why or how or
what and leaving issues up to things that they
can't control.

It is socially destructive.

Why are you being socially destructive?

Moon in 8th House: An eighth house moon shows an instinctive connection with the deeper mysteries of life. Psychic ability is common with this placement, as is extreme jealousy or suspicion.

The Moon in the 8th House is an indication that in past lives the emotional needs of others were denied as a result of an overly self-centered, materialistic, or cerebral reality. The sign of the Moon will indicate which. People with the Moon in 8th House are commonly born to parents who cannot function at an emotional level. With other planetary factors, this placement of the Moon can indicate the loss of a parent early in life in which the child is burdened by the bereaved parent’s emotional needs. Although acutely sensitive to the emotional states of others, people with the Moon in H8, who have had little practice in emotional expression early in their lives, tend to be inhibited and emotionally insecure in adult life. Unlike the Sun in this House, the Moon in H8 does not feel at ease in emotionally charged situations and although he may drive his own ill-defined needs underground and focus on those of partners and associates, he is more likely to attempt to evade emotional confrontation by concentrating on impersonal, outer-directed activities and go through life with his own emotional needs unrecognised and unacknowledged.
