Aquarius means "water bearer", but isn't a water sign (very opposite in many ways, actually). It has nothing to do with water as an element.
That said... I'm a Scorpio. Which IS a water sign. I learned to guard my emotions very early. I'm very good at analyzing and explaining other peoples' emotions, but I tend to not divulge my own.
There are several reasons... The main being that most people don't *understand* emotions. Even if they think they do, and even if they *think* their very emotional (Sagittariuses and Leos are very prone to this), they seem to have a very one-dimensional view of others' emotions and even their own. Water signs are emotional because that's how they are. If they express their emotions, it's not because they want advice or are expecting sympathy... it's because they think their emotions are genuinely important to the situation and their connection with others. In fact, most water signs get very upset when people condescend to give them *advice* or suggestions, because it PROVES they just don't understand. Other signs seem to think "oh, I'm sad... I'll do this to cheer myself up"... But that doesn't work for water signs. If we feel something, then every part of our being, every thought we have, the way we perceive and react to everything around us, etc... all goes back to how we feel. We can't stay impartial or detached (Scorpios are good at pretending to be, as are Cancers at times). We can't remove our emotions from every other part of who we are, and therefore we can't *define* our emotions. It just doesn't work. Likewise, when we DO express our emotions, it's a total mess... we can easily be happy, sad, angry, hopeful, anxious, bored, annoyed, heartbroken, etc... all at the same time. And we tend to express all of those at the same time, too... which comes across as just a moody/chaotic mess.
And I think that's what most upsets me. On the rare occasion express something, people think they "understand", but the more they talk the more I realise they don't. They seem too *certain* of their emotions and too able to trace/define them... which, in my mind, means they aren't that "deep". Fire signs (well, Sags and Leos... Aries are generally chill) seem very prone to declaring their emotions and "expressing" them, and seem to do so to get sympathy or "explain" themselves. And people usually buy into it, and think they are, in fact, very emotional. Whereas the water sign thought is "if you can actually explain your emotions, then you don't have any". Likewise, I also hate the current craze of faux-charity... of people doing things because it makes them "good people" (ie: the Bono-complex) and declaring that they do these great things like they deserve a badge of honor. It's so fake. To a water sign... if we do something to help someone (which we often do), it's because we're so moved that there's no way we COULDN'T. And when we do, we don't go around telling people. If anything, we'll often keep it a secret to avoid having to "explain" why we felt the needed to.
And thus is the complexity of water signs. We're emotional, and like being recognized as such... but don't like having to explain it or "prove" it, and like other people to intuitively pick up on it as "who we are" (not how we feel or what we do... but WHO WE ARE... our emotions are 100% intertwined with everything else about us - EVERYTHING). Thus, we, maybe more than other signs, gravitate towards others of our same element who DO understand.
Born on July 11...um you are crazy. I don't believe in that horoscope crap. Everyone is capable of having a good or a bad heart and someone's astrological sign does not determine if they are going to have a good one or a bad one.

Anyway, no matter what sign a person is, we've all felt like that. I really don't see how just "water signs" would be qualified to share your opinion.

The last time I felt that way, it was when I was in a rough relationship. She was an Aquarius and I'm a Cancer. They say we're incompatible, and I believe it. However, I'm with a Leo now, and supposedly we're incompatible also, but she has the biggest heart in the world. I've never been happier.

Ummmm, Brina, you obviously don't know what you're talking about. Virgos aren't water signs. But, I think every sign shares traits with each other. People have a wide range of emotions.

Honestly I couldn't agree with you more on this. I'm a pisces (march 15) and I don't like holding my emotions in at all. I don't think it's good for you to bottle up something that you feel strongly about. I don't mean you should just go around blurting out every though in your head, but it's good to express how you feel.
My friends always tell me to chill out especially when I'm talking about girls that I'm talking to. They say I'm too open, and say too much. At least now I know I'm not the only one like this.
Yea I would agree with you about us having the truest hearts. I can't stand fake people. Some of my best friends are cancers, and my current girlfriend is a scorpio (This creates a very emotional relationship. When things are good they're great, but when they're bad.....)
