Question: There is nothing worse than meeting a girl, her asking your sign, and then judging you from your answer. Or even anybody saying anything like, "well, are a _____, so that means you are ________" I just want yell at them and call them names because 99% of the time, it is wrong. But I am an open-minded guy, so even if I don't think your thought process is right, if I can understand it, I can stop hating it or maybe someone can even change my mind. Thank you in advance for your explanation.
By the way, as a sign of good faith, I'll let you know my birthday is July 21st. That makes me a Cancer but on some zodiac calendars, that makes me a Leo.

Many people believe Astrology is just the Horoscope you read in the newspaper every day, but it's so much more than that. Astrology is highly complex, casting your chart based on the exact time, and the place in which you were born. Each body in our solar system has an effect on your astrological makeup; you have different zodiac signs that formulate your chart, making you so much more than your sun sign.
Every planet in our solar system was in a certain place when you were born, and those positions are considered when casting someone's natal chart. Different planets affect different aspects of the personality. (i.e Moon/emotions, Mercury/communication, Venus/love, etc.) Also, with a time of birth, you can find out what your ascendant and what the chart layout would be. This would place certain planets and such in different houses of the natal chart (there are 12 houses in all, each ruling a sign), where there energies would be concentrated on a certain part of someone's life. (i.e 11th house of friendship, 6th house of health, etc.) ALSO, all the planets form angles, or aspects to each other. Certain aspects are harmonious (Trines, sextiles), and some are difficult (squares, semisextiles, etc). So if someone's Sun is trine their Moon, the emotions and the will are at peace with one another, suggesting a rather balanced personality.
All in all, this is hardly the peak of the ice burg when it comes to astrology. There are different types of astrology that direct their readings on future, business partnerships, health, general life guidance, and so much more. It's not a something to be used as a tool for fortune telling or dictating a person's entire life and being, for everyone has free will. Astrology is more of a tool to use for understanding, not only your self, but everyone around you. It suggests what inner motivations might be or what some one REALLY means, it can show what makes you tick, or if there's something underneath the surface.
P.S. - I understand why it makes you angry when people judge you based on your sign. I think that's utterly ridiculous, because astrology doesn't tell you everything about the individual. Everyone has a story to tell, everyone has lived and experienced, and you should cherish that in everyone. I've had people judge me based on my astrological sign and I just let them. If they want to judge my character prior to really getting to know me, I don't want to waste my time on them anyways.

Well, you shouldn't just reject something when you admitely know nothing of it. Explaining how astrology works. I don't know. It's like observing God's plan. Nature's computer program. You can see it through observation. Read a few beginners books on astrology and watch the people around you. You'd be surprised on how acurate it is.

the western horoscope has 12 signs, it just like the Chinese 12 year signs. i don't know the western, so i cannot tell you that it is accurate or not. i study Chinese astrology that is not as you say the 12 signs. the Chinese astrology is another thing. the 12 sign is related to the Chinese astrology.(i can say that is one part of the astrology) the 12 signs are the year of the sign (animals). the Chinese astrology use the stars that are not the real stars to make charts. there are 12 time periods in a day, so there are 12 charts, male's and female's are different, so there are 24 charts in a day, and everyday is different, and every year is different. so it is very important for us to make sure what the time is for you. we need data to tail your past (only the birthday and time are not enough) to make sure the chart is your, and then we predict the future. if you meet a good master, he can tell you what you want to know in what year (we usually do the year),you can know the decade or you whole life( it takes very long time to do it, and it will be very expensive ). i prefer the Chinese astrology because it can tell every things (you may not believe it), of course, if you have a very good master. it won't just tell you all the things general, or tell you something is not what you want to know.
The reason I enjoy astrology is the insight it gives me into people's behavior. If I know someone is a Scorpio, I won't be offended by their apparent casualness or indifference because I know that underneath the surface they are bubbling like a volcano. but anyway, chillax guy. horoscopes are for mere entertainment. it's fun to read about the traits the signs have and actually compare them to people of the cosmic creatures. but its not something to really work yourself up about. it pure fun and something to do when you're bored.
I think you're right that we shouldn't shun people because of their zodiac sign. However, it does help us to better understand things at times. I know that it will never be 100% accurate, but it does help me try to figure out the person that I want to know better. I mean, if someone is avoiding me, then I have to know if it's because they no longer like me or because they just want to keep the mystery alive. Depending on the sign, I'll have to take a different approach. That doesn't mean that I will totally deny someone the time of day because of it, though.
Anyhow, I think with age we all get a little bit wiser. So even if I found a guy who was a Taurus and bull-headed like crazy, then I'd be able to better be able to understand him if I knew why he did what he did. Given that information, if I worked with him in the right way, then I might be able to better "tame him" and get him to react the way I need him to.
