Let me clear things up for you. I'm a Scorpio and I will be fair about the answers I've read thus far. I've known a lot of Cancers and from all appearances they can sometimes seem stronger, but you MUST remember one thing. Scorpios aren't going to show you everything, we're very behind the scenes kinda people, but we are also the most lethal, don't underestimate Scorpios dark side, we have two ruling planets. Mars the God of War, and Pluto God of the Underworld. . what does that tell you? We can be quite twisted when we want to be and the beautiful part is unlike a cancer, you won't see it coming.

um my mom is cancer and my stepmom is a scorpio and my mom seems stronger like she'll beat the s**t out of my stepmom lol, so i think cancer. but scorpio can do alot of talk and no action, well thats how the scorpios that i've met are.
Scorpios are known to be very stubborn, but Cancerians are extremely tenacious and will fight to the death for something they believe in.
I would have to say the Scorpio. Both signs are water signs and can be quite sensitive, emotional and caring, but Scorpio has a very different way of expressing love. Scorpio’s love is demanding, and asks a lot more in return. Scorpios seem to have to learn to control the desire to dominate. They will use power on any level to get what they want.
Cancers tend to be most introspective and have to fight the urge to retreat.
Scorpio is by far the strongest of the water signs. Don't be fooled do your research.

They're both pretty strong, each in their own way.
They're both VERY strong when it comes to defending
home & family. They'll do it tooth & nail. Especially Cancer !!!
Scorpio loves to investigate matters & can easily spot

You said it all when you said "seem to." That's exactly what it is, seems to. Scorpio will never allow somebody to trample on it, unless they feel there is a reason and it "seems to" suit their needs or is convenient. Cancer? Not! They're very strong when it comes to, " Poor little feel sorry for me and my messed up family and upbringing and it's all my parent's fault yada, yada,con on the lower end.
But Cancer can be quite a protective parent on the positive end, but rarely are they capable of going it alone.

If we stay faithful to the descriptions given by astrology, strong or not the scorpio can hardly afford to play rough in a tightly legislated society. Unless of course, being taken care of is exactly what that person wants. :)
From what i have observed, cancer has the most reliable physique, leading to a fundamental advantage. If we suppose that one day one man goes to his job in spite of being drunk, sick and not having slept for three days... even if his colleagues want him to perform and cheer him up, will he succeed in doing so?
My prediction is no. His body will not respond, therefore he will most likely complain and panic like the classic scorpio does when his 'A plan' fails him.

This is not to knock Cancers, but honestly, they seem very co-dependent, which thrwarts/weakens their ability to fight for what they want. I am sure there are exceptions, though.
Scorpios are very independent thinkers. Also being a fixed sign, makes us very stubborn, so if we have our mind fixed on something.....
Cancer and I agree with you they will fight for what they want. Scorpio's are so deity and only care about themselves.
Scorpio by far if a Scorpio is in a subordinate role then their is a reason for that. Scorpio is a very intelligent sign and they know how to get what they want. Playing the subordinate role now will get them the power they need later.
