What is an indigo child?!

Question: I was at a mind, body and spirit fair with my mum, and while she was getting a reading I noticed that a woman kept in staring at me. She kept smiling at me and I smiled back.
At the end before I left, the woman came up to me and told me I had an indigo blue and purple aura. She said that I was an indigo child and that fate had a plan for me. I don't understand what she meant but what she said felt right somehow. I never told my mum because I was too scared. I'm only 15 please help! Thanks xx

I actually was researching this topic last night. I recommend watching these videos that I will send to you at the bottom of this answer. Some other girl was recently told that she was an indigo child and she looked it up and explained bits and parts of it as a video blog. Indigo children have unique characteristics that you can use to distinguish them. They come into the wolrd with a feeling of royalty and they'll often act like it, they feel that they deserve to be here and are surprised when they realize that others don't share that, self-worth isn't a big issue for them, they often tell their parents who they are, they simply won't do certain things (like waiting in line is difficult for them), they get frustrated with systems that are ritually oriented and don't require creative thought, they're really sensitive and emotional, they often see better ways of doing things at both home and school which can make them seem like 'system busters' or nonconformists, they come across as anti-social unless they are with people of their own kind. If there are no others of like consciousness around them then they will often turn inward and feel like no other human understands them. School is often incredibly difficult for them socially. Indigo children don't respond to "guilt" discipline (example: "Wait till your father gets home and finds out what you did"). They also are not shy when letting other people know what they need. You can google it, a bunch of information pops up. They even have indigo schools out there! Best of luck!

^You have to watch them in that order..

I don't know anything about this subject, but I got quite a bit of knowledge on it from reading on Wikipedia. It says:
"Indigo children is a term used within the New Age movement to refer to children who are alleged to possess paranormal attributes such as the ability to read minds."

(: Happy New Year

Indigo children is a term used within the New Age movement to refer to children who are alleged to possess paranormal attributes such as the ability to read minds.

The Indigo child concept was first publicized in the 1982 book "Understanding Your Life Through Color," by Nancy Ann Tappe. Tappe, a self-proclaimed synesthete and psychic, says she has the ability to see people's auras, and began noticing in the late 70's that many children were being born with "indigo" auras. Today, she estimates that 97 percent of children under ten and 70 percent of those age 15 to 25 are "Indigo."

The idea of Indigo children was popularized by the 1999 book The Indigo Children: The New Kids Have Arrived, written by the husband-and-wife team of Lee Carroll and Jan Tober. Carroll insists that the concept was obtained via conversations with a "Master angelic energy" he calls Kryon. Tober has said that she and Carroll do not talk much about Kryon in interviews about their Indigo children books, because "the Indigo book is aimed at the mainstream public."

the lady thinks you have special powers like reading minds and paranormal stuff. theres nothing wrong with you. as for her...well she might need to go to the crazy hut.

look i read a book about auras before..supposedly the indigo aura is a new aura "evolution"..where the old auras are red, orange blue etc u can look it up..anyways im supposedly and indigo aurad guy too..its just that this a new addition thats wat interesting no psychic or paranormal things were said, but that well be very new at out methods, and that well be honest to our feelings..we trust small amount of ppl but are good friends, we r inquistive we dont care about money many things ull like to hear lol hope its true:D.. i wish i couldave linked u to the book but its not with me even lol..but its very similar to a scorpio horoscope with less evil traits, vengeance etc..i hope thats wat she meant!

I am a psychic medium and published author. Indigo children is a term used to discrib children who have stronger psychic abilities then most. It is actually what one would call " Falty logic" and is a term used in the new age movemnet by some to make things sound more mystical almost like the term master psychic( there is no such thing as a master psychic)
Children by nature are more intuned psychicly then adults. they even will have past live memories that seem to fade from them by age 4.
some children. if raised in an open minded house hold like you are since your mom took you to a psychic, do not loss there strong psychic abilities but they will actually get stronger with age. This psychic could sense your strong abilities.
