You are on the right track... but it's not about contol.
Horoscopes primarily MISLEAD the masses, makes them think astrology is some fluffy entertainment.
Classic misdirection. Ignore all that old stuff, our "new" and revised history is what you should read/buy/consume.

I think you're reading too much into it. People read horoscopes for different reasons. Some for entertainment, some for inspiration, and SOME people choose to let the stars control their lives, but I doubt this is a practice of the "masses".

I have no faith in them whatsoever. But some ppl do, and if that's what they choose to believe in, I will leave them to it.
The reason they are put in the funny pages where kids can see em is because no one really puts any faith in them. They are for "entertainment purposes only".
Personally, I'd rather read the comics..but to each his own.

Its kinda obvious Astros aren't 100% truth, since every source has something different for the daily ones, but its an old belief and there are plenty of fools out there ready to believe in it as their ultimate life bible. For some, its a backup source to recharge your emotions if you're down, and remind themselves of how awesome they are (its what I use it for, basically).
But saying Astrology is nothing but government propaganda is going a little bit out of bounds here, I feel.
All these people, all over the planet, seriously striving to stop eating, smoking, drinking, gambling, swearing, grouching etc. Don't they understand? The only way to give something up is to take something else up. If you embrace the alternative enthusiastically enough, your arms will neither have the space nor the desire to carry what they used to hold. If your resolution involves a sacrifice, you won't keep it for long. It's got to be based on inspiration. What excites you? What's worth striving for?

If you knew, just how much complex astrology is... you wouldnt even open your big fat mouth... not shut and move along... we dont need a virgoan society, incampable of accepting new things, to judge what they DONT KNOW...
Yes, astrology isnt a real science, but you cant also deny it, that it isnt, therefore, your point of view is wrong... :)
this denial is used to prove the truth of sciences, even religion isnt proved wrong because you cant deny it...
I am only going to say one thing to you dear, forget about horoscope reading, lets talk about conspiracies. My mum used to tell me..... sometime even what you see with your own two eyes can be wrong. Seeing is believing can be deceiving.
The point is not to point out something just because you want too, it has to be because you know so. I have read oldest book in ancient times for astrology and that does not mean I know my future or yours. You don't. In my opinion it's kind of mathematics, which can be used as a guide or hint for coming up certain events by studying, but that's not just it, It can be used to prevent upcoming bed event, only if you use it wisely or sensibly with clear conscious.
