Here is the positive and negative I personally know, not from wikipedia:

Negative Traits: Negative, lack of confidence, emotionally unstable, overly flexible, dark, obsessive, unbalanced
Being that Sagittarius is ruled by the expansive and universal or outer planet, Jupiter, they have a high knowledge and may be seen as the first of the Universal symbols. They must be aware of going with a bang in a negative way, for they could lose many friends and associates as through communication and seeing them. Sagittarians must be careful as to not keep secrets to themselves and lie to themselves as well as to others.
Being Sagittarius myself, I'd say most of above mentioned characteristics are pretty darn accurate.

I'm a Sagittarius too, and I have to say that most of the answers are pretty accurate so far.
Sagittarius are good people. It all depends on the type of person. Some sag are great people. While others are cheap and lazy. I have a female sagittarius as a friend. And it was great having her as a friend but, then she starting tell me all of these sad stories about how people always treat her bad and she is always the victim. I started to realize that people would help her 100 percent but she wouldn't help them 100 percent. It seem like she would just use them for that time being. After that she would move on intill she need you again. If anything was giong great in your life she didn't want to hear it. Because life wasn't giong great for her. she would just cut you off because I think that she had a little jeasouly in her. But like I said before not all sagittarius people are like that because I met some really cool ones who was the compelet opposite of my friend. Also your birthday date play a big part. The date you were born. so check out the date and get some horoscope books only on sagittarius and it would explain every thing to you.

I think we all know what we are like and so does others who knows us. So here it is who don't know us properly........
We are all "jolly-hockey-sticks"; totally tactless and insensitive, blunt but full of energy and enthusiasm. Supposedly, we love to discuss philosophy, always look on the bright side, see everyone as a friend and are innocently think that everyone as honest as ourselves, which is not true and I find really hard to digest that bit, never mind.
Really....we can also be very delicate and deep but optimistic as always. It's just that, because Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter - the planet of hope - we could never quite silence an inner voice of optimism. Events may reduce it to a whisper for a while but it always returns to a roar, the moment they spot a possible solution to a problem. Sagittarians are idealists who want everything to be wonderful. We are also extremists who hate half measures. For us lot, it's either gung ho or no go. We don't believe in fake stuff. Our heart and minds both are pure gold and that's why we have more incite in to spirituality and philosophy.
To be a Sagittarian is to be surrounded by serendipity. Rarely do you have to go in search of anything. It naturally comes to you. Or, at least, it does as long as you know the difference between trusting your luck and pushing your luck. When you strive, you stumble.
