How will Saturn affect you?

On 16th July 2007, Saturn is transiting through Leo. A Saturn Transit brings with itself havoc, a fear as if doom is knocking on the door. Why is Saturn associated with so much of fear? Why are people afraid of Sadhe Sati? Is Sadhe Sati really so dangerous?

These and many more similar questions have been left unanswered. Today, I take this opportunity to tell you about the myths and facts of Sadhe Sati, what exactly Sadhe Sati is, and what its impact on different signs is.

Saturn takes 2.5 years to transit through a sign. Saturn is the planet of justice. It guides you to work diligently and tirelessly, to be honest and fair and to make sure that you put in the best effort in a righteous manner. Saturn penalizes us for our misdeeds and negligence of our duties. So, unless you are on the wrong path you have no reason to be afraid of Saturn.

According to our Shiva Puraana, Parvati maiya once requested Shiva to punish Saturn because while performing his duties he doesn’t even bother to pay respect to Gods and Goddesses and refrain from showing his effect on their lives. On this Lord Shiva said, “I have assigned Saturn a duty to work with an unbiased approach towards humans, animals, gandharvas as well as Gods & Goddesses. So he penalizes the wrongs without caring who is being penalized.”

What is Sadhe Sati?
When Saturn transits through the twelfth, first and second house from your natal moon it is known as Sadhe Sati. The name comes from the 7.5 years span it takes while transiting through the three houses. The first phase of Sadhe Sati begins when Saturn transits through the 12th house from the natal moon. During this phase, Saturn afflicts the head and increases tensions. The second phase of Sadhe Sati begins when Saturn transits through the 1st house from the natal moon. The third phase of Sadhe Sati begins when Saturn transits through the 2nd house from the natal moon.

What is Dhaiyya & Ashtam Shani?
When Saturn transits through the 4th house from the natal moon, it is the beginning of Laghu Kalyani Dhaiyya and when it transits through the 8th house from the natal moon it is Ashtam Shani.

Sadhe Sati & Dhaiyya after the transit on 16th July 2007
As Saturn is transiting from Moon-ruled Cancer to the Sun-ruled Leo sign it will have Sadhe Sati & Dhaiyya effect on the following :

· People with Natal Moon in Cancer will have the third & last phase of Sadhe Sati.
· People with Natal Moon in Leo will have the second phase of Sadhe Sati.
· People with Natal Moon in Virgo will have the first phase of Sadhe Sati.
· People with Natal Moon in Taurus will have Laghu Kalyani Dhaiyya.
· People with Natal Moon in Capricorn will have Ashtam Shani.

Why are people afraid of Sadhe Sati & Saturn Transit?
Saturn takes 2.5 years to transit through a sign. This way it takes 30 years to transit all twelve signs. In a given span of 30 years, every individual is under a direct effect of Saturn for 12.5 years (7.5 years of Sadhe sati + 2.5 years of Dhaiyya + 2.5 years of Ashtam Shani). This way, if one has a weak Saturn in the horoscope 12.5 years out of 30 years are not going to be very good. This way, a person is not able to gain success in accordance with the efforts he/she makes.
