mercury trine sun in a natal chart is not possible. It would have to be in a synastric chart, because I think it can only be 1 sign away from the sun at most. Only aspect that can be made is a conjunction or none at all.
If someone's mercury trines your sun or vice-versa, this would indicate a similarity in opinions, and ease in communicating with each other.

Is this someone else's Mercury trine your Sun? Because Mercury can only make one aspect to the Sun in a natal chart, and thats a conjunction.
