What's the point of this???????!

Question: Going through a lot of resolved questions, I noticed that a lot of the best answers were given to people who had cut and pasted (or simply copied) their answers from another source. These answers also tend to be extremely long and it is obvious they are not the work of the answerer. These people aren't putting any work into their answers, and they get points for it?! This is just downright bullsh*t...don't you guys want to know what someone really thinks? What they are answering with, you could've looked up yourself.

i know what you mean pretty virgo,i have noticed that too.but dont let that get under your skin. i see that you help alot of people, they appreciate your comments and you are very gifted.you are not being dishonest so let them cheat. You are a pro,you dont need to worry about that.keep doin what your doin.I use my heart to answer, and so do you. your the bomb! shrug it off!

Depends on the question...sometimes if its a tehnical questions somewhere the copy-pasting is extremeley useful...so when its a case where it really helps the person, i think it's ok

yeah that pisses me off too lol!
they always choose the people with the copy and pasted information, and none of my ideas!
IT TOTALLY SUCKS!
i totally agree with you!
it's like i waste typing for NOTHING!

I do not cut and paste I say exactly what is on my mind.

Saying that best answers are ONLY given to people who copy and paste answers is being extremely stereotypical.

Yes, best answers ARE awarded to people who copy and paste answers, but that is not always true.

Besides, "best answers" are only an opinion of 1, the asker, or 2, the people of yahoo answers.

If you want a best answer, you too can copy and paste info; there's no rule that says you can't. :]

-Btw, i didn't copy that answer from somewhere else. ;D

Yea I agree with you but don't let it get to you! Water off a ducks back. lol.

I agree completely. At times, my answers may be a bit long, but it's coming from me, not some other source. These people have to learn how to answer questions without copying and pasting, because there's nothing to copy and paste in reality.

I agree. I would rather have someone answer the question that actually has experienced dealing with the issue, or at least have there own knowledge of it.

Honestly, I dont care about the points, all I care about is helping someone out in the best possible way I can answer the questions using my own mind and feelings. If my answer I gets picked as best answer then I smile and take it as an appreciation. But yes I agree with you, people should not be cutting and pasting. Using your own mind helps not only the asker but yourself as well as you keep your brain active, "thinking power"....

I know what you mean, and the first or second responses seem to get the most Best Answers, even when they are clearly not the 'Best'.

I prefer the asker to vote for the best, opposed to it being an open unresloved vote. I think the voters just click on the first one or two to get their little point added to their account.

well actually, the opinions are the ones where people are supposed to give their honest opinion and not look it up. you would be surprised how some people think. there are intellectuals out there that sound like they copied and pasted. plus there is spell check so you cant turn to that either.

the ones that are allowed to be copied and pasted is the ones where people need help with homework, website references, song lyrics, etc. you shouldnt complain, especially if no one is forcing you to use yahoo answers. maybe you should relax a little, you will get a best answer soon. i used to be frustrated as well, then i got best answers.

okay well i think it's okay to do that because you are answering the question and there are no rules that say you're not allowed to do that so i don't see what's wrong with getting the points that way.

sometimes everyone gives pretty crappy answers so might as well give it to someone who pasted some good information. what i hate is when people post without giving a source. that's what i hate.

i agree, and let me add, i dont think its fair that some here hold top contributor status, but got there using the fabulous copy-paste method!

I feel ya girl! When u really put your heart and soul into an answer and someone comes behind u and copies and paste something you just want to come through the computer. It's cool though someone will see us for being honest and helpful one day!

when people copy and paste it' to help you get the answer That you want,if you want their opinion then just ask for their opinion when you ask a question. An they're getting points for stuff that could be copied and paste because they took the time to research the question and actually show you what that website said, you could pretty much say that it's saving your time from having to search everywhere on the Internet or searching period. And besides that ,the "Know your source? List it here: " means know where you got the information you copied and paste is from list it here.you gotta be specific if you don't like long answers say so.

I never even thought about copy and pasting but now since you have opened my mind, maybe i will try it once (only once) and see if i get a best answer because i have never tried it before. I only once got a best answer so far and that was a vote, i felt so proud of myself. If i were to copy and paste, i would list the websites in the resource area and not take all the credit as if it was my work. Plus why would I take the credit for someone else's work? I go against the law and plagiarize just for ten points in yahoo answers? Ridiculous!

Yeah. Tell me about it.

I can see if you don't know then fine. But all the time?

Not cool.

I never use another source unless I'm unsure of something. I usually use my brain and I'm good.

shut the hell up and log off you're takin this stuff to seriously

i only copied and paste on horoscope,, reason because i know where to go, to get the info.but in other topics on yahoo answer, i write the thoughts and my feels that i have and still get points.

yeah...pity ! I should do it.........would have more BAs that way :-)

In this category really frustrating! What some answerers don't seem to understand around here is that some people asking questions here are actually looking for guidance in their lives through astrology, rather than generic cookie cutter explanations of a particular sign or combination of planets in aspect. The art of astrology gets lost in these answers.

I would also venture to say though, that the questioners who choose these answers as best really aren't looking to explore the art and science of astrology, anyhow (or themselves either, I'll bet). So I guess you find what you're looking for in the end after all, huh?

EDIT: Isa, don't you dare! Your answers are just fine exactly the way they are!
