Us Capricorn woman are so complicated...we've circled around to simple.
We do adore money, but we are not spend thrifty. We do like material objects (nice ones), but we always evaluate and justify the purchase. And if we can find it on sale, then all the better.
When it comes to men, we prefer a man who is well spoken, well dressed (neat), intelligent, and ambitious. We love a challenge, so we desire a strong willed man who can challenge us intellectually. Also a good sense of humor to lighten us up...and on and on.
When you add up intelligent and ambitious, that usually equals a successful man. However, even if he's not successful...as long as he's ambitious and intelligent, he'll turn our head...and we'll be more than happy to spoil him.

Yes Cappies are motivated by money...sometimes in a miserly way...I'm not always a fan of them, however, money and possessions don't always make one truly happy.

yes, like most posters have mentioned. money equals to status, status brings them security. and it feeds their famous ambitious streak. but there a few of exceptional caps that i know who doesnt really mind dating underachievers, troublesome and financially unstable/ broke men (by their own terms, no offense to others). and coincidently, they, also tend to be less of the stereotypical caps eg. playful, laidback, outgoing, dramatic etc.
