Why are Taureans seen as "slow"?!
Question: In almost every astrology source I've come across, the descriptions of Taurus would contain a note about how Taurus' are slow thinkers, slow to respond, don't "know their own mind" and learn only from others. What exactly is meant by this? I know plenty of Taurus that are quite intelligent...

People consider that Taurus is like the animal...slow. In reality, they are slow thinkers but not speed wise. They are slow to give an answer because they reflect a little longer than others. Earth signs are like that. Taurus is deliberate is his/her slowness.
Has nothing to do with smartness. Taurus is one of the most able sign to make money easily and knows hot to be economical also.
Under normal circumstances, no-one can force him/her into anything without due time for thought and consideration. Taurus needs time to adjust to new ideas and changes. They are stubborn to the point of becoming rigid and this gives the impression of slowness to accept new ideas. They carefully consider options before starting any action or coming to any conclusion.
There is a certain reluctance in the Taurus nature to try anything new or different. They don't take many chances, and believe in sticking with the familiar and comfortable where in everyday living or intellectually and emotionally.
I think it's because they think things through before they act, and they don't seem to jump to conclusions.
This is soo funny, because I have a friend who is a Taurus and seriously we are ALWAYS waiting for her! It gets kind of annoying sometimes - but she doesn't care at all and she doesn't ever try and hurrt herself up either. Not slow intellectually ... slow as in the move slow.. very slow!!

The one I knew was a spaz and would blast people before thinking or caring what he said or how it made them feel. He was a huge jerk.
Taurus is a fixed sign. That means, among other things, that they take their time to do something. They are methodical. This is not a bad trait. They can carefully produce everything from great thought to great art...and everything in between. Just don't rush them.

Well I'm a Taurus and I'm not slow at all i don't have a hard time making any choices i rather think about all things before i just jump into things head first speeding is not a good thing it can be bad because you can make the wrong choice when your moving to fast.
I happen to know quite a few Taureans and some are family. All the ones I know are smart and intelligent. I agree with the first lady that answered.
