Whats the difference between detriment and fall?!

Question: When a planet is in "detriment" this means that that planet is in the sign opposite of it's dignity. In other words, it is placed in the opposite that it rules. When a planet is in detriment, it is at a "disadvantage"; it's energies are difficult to harness and put into action. The planet is uncomfortable here, and the person would be advised to focus on the area governed by the planet (emotions for moon, responsibilities for saturn, etc.)

Detriments: Sun in Aquarius
Moon in Capricorn
Mercury in Sagittarius or Pisces
Venus in Scorpio or Aries
Mars in Libra
Jupiter in Gemini
Saturn in Cancer
Uranus in Leo
Neptune in Virgo
Pluto in Taurus

A planet is in fall when it lies in the sign opposite of it's exaltation. An exalted planet doesn't really have a set rule, but it means it is harmonious there. When a planet is in fall, it's energies are there, but they are toned down a great deal, making it harder on the person in that area of life. So, a mars in fall means that they have energy, but they seem to fall behind quicker than most.

In Fall: Sun in Libra
Moon in Scorpio
Mercury in Pisces
Venus in Virgo
Mars in Cancer
Jupiter in Capricorn
Saturn in Aries
Uranus in Taurus
Neptune in Capricorn
Pluto in Aquarius

There isn't really much of a difference, as you can see, between detriment and in fall. Both represent the planet being in a weaker placement. I suppose the main difference is that detriment means it's an obstacle; the person cannot seem to ever be on the right page in that area of life governed by the planet involved. In fall is not really a lesson or challenge, but more that although the person is on the right page, they don't understand all of or most of the words on that page. Their intentions are in the right place, but they need to "step it up" a notch.

Hope this helps!
