Since no one has control of the day they are born it makes astrology bigoted, akin to racism. There is no evidence that birth-date determines personality.
Astrology can and has been tested. It fails to do better than chance. Don't let a ancient, made-up, bigoted, and unproved concept be used against you. Believe in free thinking. Believe that you can take control of your own life.

I have had a lot of experience with cancers.
they need to be nurtured "babied" to be happy. (I'm a leo) a few things leos and geminis have in common is we need space and we like to go out and have fun.
cancers are homebodies. they want to stay home and watch movies all the time.
they are very sensitive and emotional.
they are never direct about their feelings so you can see something is wrong with them (and its usually something small) but they will never say what it is exactley.
they try to possess you because they have trust issues and are careful about who they open up to (be friends with or date) so once they do they never want to let you go.
they cling to you (the men more than the women)
they are a lot to handle.
they don't usually work out with air or fire signs.
Gemini & Cancer:
The homebody, introverted cancer may find club loving, outgoing Gemini way too hard to get for a good mate. While Gemini is constantly on the alert for changes and something new, Cancer is satisfied to become a truly domesticated mate, and ruts don't scare them. On the other hand, the Cancerean moodiness may become too much for Gemini to cope with. There would be better compatibility where the female is a Gemini and the male is a Cancer, especially if there are several children to keep the Gemini mother's time occupied. what is best is if you have a birth chart report for yourself and your bf, compare the charts and see if the differents signs in the planet match to yours "astrologially".

I'm a Gemini... and I've dated a few Cancers, as much as I loved them very VERY deeply, for whatever reason it didn't work out. The last one I saw just disappeared on me, I think it was because he felt I was more into another guy who was more around my age and I would inevitably leave him. Besides that he was super clingy, but very sweet and loving. I thought he was almost perfect, besides his personal convictions, which I did not agree with.
I won't say it won't ever work between Cancer and Gemini, because it will it can, has and it does work out occasionally. But in my experience this is an "explosive" combo. Not for a Gemini light of heart.
Oooh...this could be difficult. Unless your birthcharts make you two compatible, you will not be happy for long. I disagree that Cancers don't like to talk - from my experience, they talk. A lot. But it's NOT about the kinds of things Gemini want to talk about. Cancers usually want to talk about deep, personal, more emotional things, whereas Gemini are usually the opposite...they're light, witty, and like talking about ideas, etc. Cancer might be too heavy for you. Personally I have a Moon in Cancer, and have not had very deep or lasting relationships with any Gemini.
