There are actually several different systems of astrology in use out there, which MIGHT account for the differences you are finding. However, there is a way to know ROUGHLY where your rising sign ought to be--without even using any fancy mathematical calculations. Here we go:
With a Nov. 29 birthdate, your sun sign should be somewhere around 7 degrees of Sagittarius (remember I said this is a ROUGH calculation, out of my head only). The rising sign is simply WHERE THE EASTERN HORIZON IS POINTING AT THE MOMENT OF YOUR BIRTH.
12:24 is, obviously, a little after midnight, which puts the Sun almost (though not quite) directly UNDER the Earth. The eastern horizon would then be pointing approximately 90 degrees, or three 30-degree Zodiacal Signs, "behind" 7 degrees of Sagittarius, at about 7 degrees of Virgo. Moving that up a little to account for the "24 minutes AFTER midnight factor" would take it to maybe 20 degrees of Virgo.
That can vary a fair bit, depending on the system being used, but you might want to really question it being other than Leo, Virgo, or Libra.
