Ethics and astrology. what are they for you ?!
Question: How would you react if somebody disagreed with you and called you all kind of names because what they think " is true" for them makes them throw insults at you ? Calling you ignorant, stupid etc and..(or worse even)
Would you think they could be viewed as appropriate and really adequate "astrologers" ?
Astrology is about empathy right ? not some kind of Olympics games.

Ultimately, I think I'd just block them so that I didn't have to deal with them anymore. Which would be unfortunate, because we're here to share knowledge and learn from each other. Blocking that person effectively silences their voice (for you anyhow). One less person to learn from. Still, someone who's spewing out garbage like that clearly isn't interested in sharing anything. They're interested in being right, and feeling superior to others. And while I can't claim to know everything about what astrology is about, I do feel that part of what it's about is learning to curb those ego-driven impulses and behave in a more compassionate and empathetic manner, towards ourselves AND others.
I also think that anyone who can toss negativity like that at someone else might want to consider taking a second look at their own birth charts, because IMO they've clearly missed something there. Astrology (again IMO) is just as much a tool to help us evolve. Such attachment to always being right does not point to an evolved personality to me.
Not any kind of astrologer that I'd want to go to for guidance, that's for sure. Anyone that attached to their own opinions isn't going to be able to help unless their opinion happens to work for the individual seeking guidance right off the bat. If it doesn't work for that individual, the automatic response from the astrologer would probably go something like "Of course I'm right! YOU'RE the one who's misguided! YOU need to fix this"....How helpful is an astrologer when their influence only brings the person going to them for GUIDANCE down??? Aren't we all here to help elevate each other beyond our petty, self-serving ego drives? Isn't THAT part of what astrology is about as well?
Should be a part of what life is about, not just astrology.
I always find it to be very sad to see astrologers playing these one-upmanship type games. Here are these people who've been trained to interpret people's birth charts and assist them in becoming more whole and in working through their various karmic debts, supposedly to help them move further down their paths to evolution, and then they behave like spoiled little tyrant children! Any child of mine who behaved in that manner would be sent to bed for a good long time to think about adjusting their attitude. My point is that if an astrologer IS in fact there to assist others in this way, shouldn't the astrologer themselves embody some of that evolved consciousness? If you can't do it for yourself, there's not much chance that you're going to be able to help others with it, you know?
Just don't worry about it, Isa. Block the person, and pretend they're not there. It'll stop, because you've taken away their fun. And then they can go back to answering the "which sign is the best" questions which would clearly be their area of expertise.
No Astrology is the prediction of personality by reading star signs.
IT depends on the person. Ethics is relative to different people.

No one has the right to tell you that you cannot or shouldn't be here unless you have done something to hurt another, which i doubt highly you have. It doesnt' make them "inadequate" astrologers but it does make them "inadequate" people i think. Astrology is about understanding......understanding one's purpose, goals, feelings, beliefs, etc. Who they are in all aspects of life. But true any good astrologer must have empathy because without it there is no reason or connection, making the "client" uneasy and less likely to realize what the astrologer is saying.

edit: i agree with restless_angel on that if it continues or you just can't take it then block the user. Sure they won't be able to share anything with you, but if they have nothing but "garbage" as restless put it, then yeah it's best to just block the person.
I had the same thing happen to me! This guy who's on here all the time (cutter & paster) was calling me names and sent me nasty emails. He told me not to post on here either. AND HE WAS THE ONE WHO INITIATED RUDE COMMENTS TOWARDS ME! That's the same person who follows my answers around & gives them all thumbs down. The rude cut & pasters are the ones who need the boot!
Ethical astrology? Being a bigoted concept that stereotypes, pigeon-holes, and labels to an excess, it can't be ethical. Nobody has control of when they are born, but it's ok be biased for that reason. This make it akin to racism.
When asked for evidence on the hows and whys, that is when the name calling begins. That is because it can not be done and this is their best defence. The assumption from most is astrology is a fact, though testing has shown it does no better than chance.
The correct way to debate an issue is to attack the arguement and not the arguer.
