Question: im gemini, and I have trouble getting along with caps and virgos, we have totally different ways of thinking and doing things usually. Just that they would rather take the path of least resistance where I'm the opposite. not speaking for all of them tho.

If we are talking only about sun signs, it is defnitely a cancer, even though I have a cancer rising. I can't explain it other than it is just a struggle to maintain an easy flow of words in our conversations.
Yes, I can see how you would have trouble getting along with caps & virgos. I'm not sure if I agree w/ your analysis of the why behind it, but I defnitely see the incompatiblity between your personality and that of these earth signs.
Edit: Okay, I'm going to take a risk here in giving you my opinion. You are too fiery, outspoken and sometimes unpredictable for caps and virgos. They are generally practical, steady and don't like to draw attention to themselves, especially in a shocking way. My impression is that none of those earth sign traits matter to you. I could be wrong, though.
I'M an Taurus and I don't have problems getting along with anybody. I also don't believe in astrology sorry i think astrology is fake.

Gemini- i dont get along with Cancers,virgos, caps, or any other crazy emotional signs. My best friend is a aquarius.
I'm a Cap (as you may already know) and I have a hard time getting along with Aries men and Gemini people (although I do have a Gemini friend) Virgos are also good at getting on my nerves mainly when I'm not in the mood but, they don't mean to be offensive, I think.

I'm a Capricorn , and I have a REALLY hard time getting along with fire signs...specially with Aries and Leo! I can handle Sags.
Sometimes my Libra and Cancer friends find some problems...We can't understand each other and we live in different worlds.
But I have no problem with others...LOL!

-capricorns - our personalities clash, workaholics while
geminis [my sign] tend to be more fickle and go with the flow.
-virgos [they sometimes tend to be too nit picky, anal, and demanding for my taste],
other geminis- posess too many of the same qualities of myself [too many geminis in 1 room is never good you'll never be able hear yourself think, lol.]
-cancers- I dont have a problem getting along with them, just a problem communicating cuz they are too quiet and reserved.
im a scorpio we basically fight with everyone lol but im bad with gemini my brother is one and were tottaly opposite and my mom and step dad are also scorpios we fight like crazy scorpios together are horrible! lol were very aggressive and stuff and bossy and intense so i hear lol i love my sign.
