Ouija boards?!

Question: I'm just wondering what yall think about playing with ouija boards?
Any weird experiences?
Anyone know how to keep save while playing with one (like they say to cover the mirrors when playing with one)

-I know this has nothing to do with horoscopes-

I know alot about them, but i wouldnt reccomend fooling around with one, its an invitation for disaster. It HELPS to protect you if you put a nickel on top of the board to keep spirits from exiting from the board. also never leave the plancette on top of the board when you arent using it. good luck!

as far as I know they are strictly for entertainment purposes, like tarot cards or palm reading, however... There are some who swear by them.

Good question! I've heard that using one is an invitation for evil spirits to enter the room - and they are the ones that answer the questions, so you really can't trust the answer.

This is not a toy or game or to be taken lightly. A must read for anyone interested in using this board: book called "OUJA, the most dangerous game" by Stoker Hunt, and then decide for yourself.

The pendulum in Ouiji boards moves totally based on where you want it to move.

Not to say that you are cheating, but that something in the back of your mind makes your hands drift to where it wants the pendulum to go without YOU - your conscious mind - being aware that you're doing it.

Fun fact: Oui is French for "Yes" and Ja is German for "Yes".

It's a lot of fun, actually. If you have suggestible friends you can get them to reveal all kinds of stuff about themselves with a OuiJa board. Tell them the spirits see all, etc. Cover the mirrors and windows if you think it will make it more dramatic. Drama is everything.

No, I've never seen demons or the like. Only in movies.

yes i threw it away and it kept coming back

than we gave it away and than i just never saw it again

i play that long time ago with my bf and damn it freak me out it move itself .. wow but i heard it bring you bad things so i had to throw it away it never came back or did any harm to us .. that the good thing .

If there really is an afterlife, I'll bet the best way to contact it is through a plastic, mass-produced board game from Milton Bradley! --Mad Magazine

A Ouija board is commonly used in divination and spiritualism, often by friends out to have some fun. Sometimes users become convinced they've been contacted by the spirit world. The board usually has the letters of the alphabet inscribed on it, along with words such as 'yes,' 'no,' 'good-bye' and 'maybe.' A planchette, a small 3-legged device with a hole in the middle or a pointer of some sort, is manipulated by those using the board. However, users often feel the planchette is moving of its own accord rather than responding to their own unconscious muscle movements (ideomotor action). The users ask a "spirit" a question and the pointer slides until it stops over "yes" or "no" or a letter on the board. Sometimes the selections "spell out" an answer to a question asked.

Some users believe that paranormal or supernatural forces are at work in spelling out Ouija board answers. Skeptics believe that those using the board either consciously or unconsciously move the pointer to what is selected. To prove this, simply try it blindfolded for some time, having an innocent bystander take notes on what words or letters are selected. Usually, the results will be unintelligible.

The movement of the planchette is not due to spirits but to unconscious movements by those controlling the pointer. The same kind of unconscious movement is at work in such things as dowsing and facilitated communication.
