Chiron is symbolized by the "wounded healer". Chiron was named after the centaur in Greek mythology who was a healer and teacher who, ironically, could not heal himself.

Chiron in our natal charts points to where we have healing powers as the result of our own deep spiritual wounds. Chiron, as a wounded healer, first must face issues of low self-worth and feelings of inadequacy and learn to rise above these issues. It represents our deepest wound, and our efforts to heal the wound. We may sometimes over-compensate in this area.

When your Chiron lands in Cancer, this means that you have unresolved issues pertaining to the family, past, childhood to work with. Cancer is all about the nurturing side of us, the maternal figure and instincts. It is possible that you have some issues to work out with one or both of your parents.

There's no totally 'bad' or 'good' placements, just those that are more difficult to work out. Personally, I have Chiron (Retrograde!) in Aries in 1st House which meant that I have to deal a lot with self-identity and self-image issues when growing up - a very painful issue if you ask me. So i think this is considered a difficult ('bad') placement. If you're of the more emotional, nostalgic type that is closely tied to the past, then Chiron in any of the water signs (esp. Cancer) would be considered a very difficult placement.

On the other hand, if Saturn falls in Cap, this is actually one of the easier placements to work with, because it is its natural ruler. Saturn generally feels more at home with the earth signs than any other elemental family. Now, as to whether having a lot of Cap in your chart is bad (I am a Cap btw), I can't say that or I'd be condemning myself! hehe BUT you can be sure that wherever Cap turns in your chart, it gives you a more introverted, introspective take on things and it teaches that no rewards come without effort and hard work put in. All in all, Cap placements teach you responsibility and humility in life.

However, Cap influences actually work quite positively for some of the planetary energies. E.g. If Mars lands in Cap, then it's actually considered a positive position because it's 'exalted'. Mars in this position gives you perseverance, the ability to keep going on when others have failed. It gives you more determination and tenacity to complete the task at hand after initiating it.

Saturn shows our fears. It is the area where we tend to suffer what is called "bad luck." As a result, this is the area where our defenses are up, where we feel cautious, and where we can get stuck. Frequently, we can get to work here and make the area that was our weak point a tower of strength instead. Chiron's orbit actually crosses the orbit of Saturn, so it should come as no surprise that are some similarities in the effect it has on us. But Chiron's orbit crosses the orbit as Uranus as well. Wherever Saturn is, we have to work long and hard to solve the problems. With Chiron, the problems must also be dealt with by insight (Uranus). The catch is that if we don't follow up these insights with more work (Saturn) the problems come back. The superficial interpretation for Chiron in Cancer would be that there were childhood troubles with the mother. Brilliant deduction. Hey, who didn't have some childhood problems with both parents? The real key here is how we dealt with it. The positive part of Chiron in Cancer is that you can be very nurturing. This is a very good position for therapists and caregivers of any sort. The negative side is that you find it difficult to nurture yourself or let others nurture you. Everybody has some degree of difficulty in growing up and severing that psychological umbilical cord with mama. Chiron in Cancer people tend to take a longer time than most to do the job. Once you do this, though, and learn to accept as well as give nurturing, you should be fine. So stop whining and complaining.
