I have never heard of that stereotype, but I am alittle bummed that I am cancer. I coulc never get "cancer" tatooed on me, or a crab for that matter, it would just seem wrong. On the good side, I am especially caring and nurturing, so being a cancer isnt all bad.

I am a Virgo my boy friend is a cancer I love him very much , even when he is acting like a crab :)
I like cancer's but sometimes they can be a bit hard to handle. I'm a capricorn and am meant to get along really well with them. my friend who is a cancer just has the worst mood swings, not necessarily at me but we will be walking down the st and she will all of a sudden crack a **** about something (by this i mean she will yell and then storm off..kind of embarrsssing), and she gets easily offended aswell.
But on the other end of the spectrum i know that she will stick by me through thick and thin, they are very loyal and caring..they just need to work on ways to control their emotions.
My experience with cancers,
They're disingenuine, and its not that they lie on purpose to other people, its that they themesleves cannot accept the truth enough to be even aware of it.
Okay so every single cancer I've met has wronged me and in some way been a liar and a cheater, or at least said unkind words under their breathe while complimenting me to my face.
To me the disease was named after the sign and not the other way around.
*shrugs* But I haven't met every single Cancer. So I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings.

Not all people don't like cancer. I'll bet you'll find that those born in the signs capricorn, pisces and scorpio find this sign wonderful. Emotional, caring and nurturing are virtues, but sometimes they can be taken too far; and maybe the extreme is what bothers some people.
Edit: What is wrong with this ChainLightning guy below. He follows people around in horoscopes trying to discount their beliefs. It is like he is on this mission to save the world from people interested in Astrology. He is even a top contributor to the horoscope category. I think he needs to get a life.
Put this to your head Thinker if you don't like stereotypes. Isn't astrology just a lot of accepted stereotyping? Pigeon-hole people based on the day they are born. To assume personality based on an ancient and unproved concept is not rational. Where is the evidence that astrology is valid? Is there statistical evidence?
No one has control of when they are born. This also makes astrology a form of bigotry akin to racism and sexism. Believers tend to ignore that and like to stereotype even themselves.
