Answers: I hear ppl talk about the zodiac sign but how many people actually believe them?

i dont think alot of people believe in that stuff, it just a guy who wrote a book and said today your gonna be mad and make money,

NOT A BELIEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

I do believe it because I observe people and their star signs. I do not use the web nor the books to tell me who and who's compatible.

As for daily horoscopes, I really don't know about it.

I know everyone's different but the zodiac signs show the common characteristics people have born under that time period.

Why not?
I mean to me the actual characteristics of my sign(scorpio) are correct, but my horoscopes aren't. Could be a conincidence and could not.

I believe in them though

Zodiac sign- its just Sun position. There are 9 other planets whose mutual aspects and houses they are placed in make huge difference between you and another person (even though your Suns are in the same sign). Thus, daily horoscopes do not make sense. However, natal charts and transits are whole other story.

The zodiac SIGNS are just points on a map, like countries o a World map.

The true horoscope is a map of the heavens for a particular moment in time and space. That is what astrologers use.

The characteristics of the signs is what I believe in. Daily horoscopes are stupid. You can read 5 on any given day and there are always different.

zodiac signs r only a stats base data ,

there is more than signs in life like
heredity,
environment ,
circumstances
which govern life. pl read

I am a Sagittarius, and I definitely feel connected to the attributes of such. I do think though, that a lot of what we believe about our horoscopes can be the power of suggestion. I saw something about this on -ha ha- Mind Freak, believe it or not. The host had a "psychic" give readings to random people on the street, of all different zodiac signs. EVERYONE was overwhelmed, impressed, totally bought it. Well, come to find out, he had cut a basic horoscope out of the newspaper, and read the SAME one to everyone. Horoscopes are left purposefully vague, so that we can interpret its meaning into our own lives.

This does not mean I don't believe though. I have studied basic astrology and found a lot of truth in the overall characteristics, if not the horoscopes. For example, every Virgo I have ever met is INSANE. They all live in their own world, and well, they are just Virgos. I can also tell a male Scorpio from a mile away. The one thing I have always said, and now hear a lot, too, is that "the moon controls the tides in the ocean. our bodies our made of 70%+ water, so it is very possible that astronomical aspects may have some control over ourselves."

Sorry, this was quite a ramble.. Hope it helps.

In a Harris poll of over 2000 adults, 31% believed in astrology. That was an old poll; you'll probably find a higher percentage now.(1)

Zodiacs are actually defined as "A belt of twelve constellations through which the Sun's path in the sky, the ecliptic, passes. They are Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpius, Sagittarius, Capricornus, Aquarius, and Pisces. (2)"

So, technically, the Zodiac exist regardless of anyone's belief in them, as they are actual constellations...

Over thousands of years, certain recurring attributes, personalities, attitudes, and even physical characteristics, have been associated with the passing of these constellations. Eventually, as patterns of behavior were tied to each constellation, it became possible to create predictions based on regular stellar orbits....this is where horoscopes come from (a simplified version).

I humbly submit that your stars are only the markers that reflect your personality, but do not define your actions. Just as people are born with black hair, brown eyes, or other "markings" that reflect their genetic background, I believe the stars were in place at the time of your birth to help identify your personal potential.

Horoscopes may attempt to divine our general attitudes of the day, but each of us have the free will to determine our individual actions. That's why most people don't find general horoscopes to be very accurate. Specific, natal based horoscopes can "fine tune" the process and point more accurately to the WAY we may handle a situation, but there's just no way for astrology to determine the absolute movements of our lives...

If find astrology a useful tool for breaking down communication barriers, finding latent and previously unknown talents in myself and others, and for helping resolve relationship issues. I use it successfully in daily life to communicate practical information to other people (I am a public speaker of sorts), and find it useful in identifying potential avenues of personal growth.

I belive in astrology and the Zodiac but I do not let in influence my life. I have looked up my birthchart and read various different meanings for the elements in my birthchart and I see them being mostly true.

I read up about my friends and make compairisons and where I find 90% of their aspects to be true, theres always a few that dont make sence, or that arnt true.

I always do chart compairisons when I start talking to someone (potential boyfriends and such) just to see what the stars have to say about the matter. But if things dont look favorable, I dont let it influence me. I still try to make it all work out and get to know that person. Though sometimes it can help you out.

Theres alot more to Astrology and the Zodiac then your "daily horiscope". which is just based on your sun sign. and usually they have nothing to do with you or dont make sence. who ever said predicting the future was easy? lol some are just better at it then other ^.^

Yes, I believe in the Zodiac. Every person that I have known
and compared to their sun sign matched it far more than any
other sign. Also, If you can observe a person and constantly
and correctly judge a their sun signs, without knowing it,
just off of their demeanor, how can it be false? Studying
thru my own chart I found it fits me perfectly. And it did not
describe me so well when I would substitute here and there
to see if it would match also. The characteristics of each
sign are undeniable. Though, there is a lot more to you than
just your sun sign. Aside from astrology, the experiences you
have in life also play their part.

I do not believe in horoscopes though. There is some
wisdom to be found within them for each sign, just not
the psychic kind people often look to them for. They just
seem to be taking each signs predictable traits and/or
habits, good or bad, and offering a piece of daily advice
based on the good possibilties something they speak
of is/could be happening due to those traits and habits.
