Why are you looking to astrology? It doesn't matter what your signs are. All that matters is that you like him, and he likes you. If your beliefs and goals are simliar, yes you'd be good with him. Your astrological signs have nothing to do with it. But, generally, yes. A Gemini is compatible with a Virgo.

Well, virgos are curious, and geminis are tender people

The Gemini may get bored with the Virgo. Geminis like to be the center of attention and are always up for social gatherings. Geminis also have the tendency to be back-stabbing and manipulative, and the Virgo will begin to wallow at their Geminis feet and will have trouble being themselves. I am a Virgo and never had had any luck with Geminis. I have had many past friendships with Geminis, but they in turn would back stab me or take advantage of me. I am no longer friends with them.
Although! Love compatibility also has a lot to do with the rest of each persons birth charts. Google "birth natal chart" and draw up your chart and your partners chart. Just because your sun sign (yours Virgo; his Gemini) doesn't necessarily match up astrologically speaking, doesn't mean that the rest of your birth charts won't be compatible. Sometimes, your moon sign, rising sign, venus, etc. is actually more important than your sun sign.

Gemini! Gemini's (in my experience) are stubborn, have multiple personalities... One min. they are mad at you, the next they love you, "hard headed", agressive... and the list goes on.... I am not saying ALL are like that but like I said in my exp. this is what I have notice about them.
