You Will Pass In The Exam-however, you need determinations.

WHERE THERE IS A WILL THERE IS A WAY.

Read My Own Story: I was working as a teacher for English and Social Studies in a private middle school in Madhya Pradesh during the early nineties when my first letter on the importance English in our country was published through the columns of an English daily -a large circulated newspaper from Madhya Pradesh on April 20, 1993. After reading my letter in the newspaper, I felt as if I had received some unexpected sudden blessings from the Supreme God.

I took the newspaper and rushed to my school where I worked and showed to my staff and my students. Some teachers read the letter fully; however, some just glanced the paper and “appreciated” me for writing such good letter. Nevertheless, I read my letter for more than one hundred times even during teaching hours. Tears rolled from my eyes every time when I read my letter published on that day’s newspaper. Some of my colleagues ridiculed me for reading the letter every now and than during school hours but I did not mind them.

Why I got so exited after reading my letter on the newspaper that day?

There was a very big reason behind for me to get so happy and exited on that day!

I was born on the very last day of December 1960 in Calcutta and my parents shifted to south India after my birth; my parents never bothered to admit me in to any school and I was compelled to enjoy a “school free life” till 1971 in south India. However, in 1971-72 my father managed in securing admission for me directly in to sixth standard in a school in Ahmedabad. No doubt that was a miracle, because I did not know even A, B, C, D…in English and I got admitted directly in to sixth standard that too in English medium! Perhaps for the first time in my life, I entered any school at my eleventh age! As expected I failed in the final examination with out scoring even a single mark.

In 1972 my family shifted to Bhopal. I was readmitted into sixth standard in a school at Bhopal. Of course, due to some real miracle, I managed to “pass” sixth and seventh standard there! Eighth standard was MP Board Examination. When the results were announced I failed in the examination scoring lowest marks throughout the state.

In 1975 my father sent me back to my native in Kerala. After glancing my eighth standard mark sheet, the headmistress of the Government school-Palghat, refused to give me admission in eighth standard that too in English medium. The sympathetic headmistress however agreed to conduct a written test for me and on the basis of my performance in the test, the HM agreed to admit me in to eight standard. Nevertheless, after seeing my performance in the written test, the HM refused me admission even in the second standard in their school!

Once again some miracle occurred there on that day (June 02, 1975-Monday) because the HM who earlier denied me admission even in second standard, later on, agreed to admit me in to eighth standard provided I should work hard. When the annual examinations were over and when I got the mark sheet of eighth standard in my hands, that did not surprise me, because my total marks were thirty plus out of six hundred!

I wasted another two years in loitering here and there in extreme poverty without knowing what to do in my life. However, I did not give up my hopes in studying further, therefore, in 1978-79 I decided to appear for SSLC (tenth standard) examination under the “private over-aged category” from Kerala.

In those days we couldn’t get any respect in our village on failing in SSLC exam, because our village in Palghat always produced ninety five percent positive results in SSLC. I did not want me to be counted in the remaining five percent. Secondly, I also knew that if I passed SSLC it would not be a problem for me to get a good job and I could also study further remaining in any job. Hence I desperately wanted to pass SSLC, so I dared to appear for SSLC examinations through English medium.

Accordingly, I prepared for the examinations but without basic educational knowledge, I could not grasp things so easily especially in science and math! I did not have enough money to pay for private tuition -twenty rupees per month. However, I appeared for the exam but when the results were declared, I failed in the examinations. I got disappointed, all my hopes and dreams shattered once for all. Till seeing the results I thought I would make through but after seeing the results I thought every thing had gone for me. Finally, I thought enough was enough and put a very big full stop to my studies!

I could not get any job as per my satisfactions anywhere till 1992; however, meanwhile since 1987 I managed to learn astrology. Finally in December 1992 I reached MP.

There I met a person who offered me a job in his private school as a teacher. I joined the middle school as a teacher in January 1993 and in order to teach my students well, I started learning English, Social Studies etc of my own with whatever the books those were available in that small school. I did not waste even a single minute or I should say even a single second and read number of English grammar books, composition, general knowledge books, history, geography etc of my own.

Alas! Once again a miracle happened in my life, - with in three months of joining the school, I become an outstanding teacher in the school where I worked! By dint of my abilities I learned English with in a span of just three months! English became my favorite and I loved to read and write in English!

Accordingly, on April 17, 1993 I wrote my ever first letter to the leading newspaper in MP on the importance of English and education in India. Fortunately they published my letter on April 20, 1993. That “treatment” by the press, encouraged me to express more and more ideas of mine through my writings. In order to write more, I learnt more. I wrote more than hundred letters on varies topics through the column of from 1993 to 1995. Very recently I received special honor for contributing articles based on Karma from a leading publisher.

In order to see better days in my life I left the school job in 1995 and joined a construction company in New Bombay. I got married in 1996, blessed with two children. Due to unavoidable politics in the company where I worked, I left the job and became jobless in 2000.

In that juncture, I remembered my old gold astrology and I started practicing that and as on date I am doing well on my subject. As on today I have the credit of writing more than hundred letters and hundreds of valuable and classical articles in English mostly on Karma related topics for number of leading and local newspapers and magazines.
