I think Mars is the main driving force behind how you express your enthusiasm and initiate projects but a lot has to do with the Ascendant as well because anger is usually triggered off by our external circumstances and the Ascedant is a projection of how others view us and how we want to be viewed by others. So a strong Fiery Mars and Ascendant definitely contribute to violent temper outbursts at times, although these are somewhat subdued if the native has a more self-possessed-controlled Sun sign like Capricorn.

It's MARS, most definitely =). I know some crazy *** pisces with a scorpio mars, and they could beat anyone... and I know a very passive aries and a scorpio that doesn't sting... they have mars in either cancer or libra, or picses... I have a pisces mars and I have a very hard time asserting myself or expressing anger believe it or not. It's really hard to deal with..

My Mars is in Aries, Janet, it's hard to trump that temper with a watered down 4th house Sun conj. Nep in Sag, you know?
I will say though, that when Mars kicks in, Mercury in Scorpio is more than willing to do the talking for him.
If anything, my sun helps to diffuse my temper somewhat, but I am still impulsive by nature of both, so sometimes I slip.

Mars is known how you express your masculine side. Therefore, yes, anger included.
For example. I have a capricorn in mars. The way I usually express my anger is holding it in. I am shy and used to be even more when I was a kid. I was also emotionally reserved and was afraid of getting embarrased by expressing my emotions. I usually don't get angry but if I do I hold it in. Capricorn signs are like that.
I agree with your friends on line. I believe it to be in Mars. That is where you see the frustration and anger. I would just recognize the traits that you have with mars and try to move past it.
