Are the years 1960s-1970s the age of music?!

Question: I noticed that music was very popular in the 1960s through 1980s. The Beatles invented Rock and Roll. A lot of great bands appeared such as Jimi Hendrix, Bon Jovi, Korn, Queen, etc... It seems like the stars were pointing at the age/generation of music just like other ages/generations. It was also the age of hippies.

I also noticed that after like the 1980s or so all those groups either fell, the person died, or just lost popularity. For example the Beatles fell. Jimi Hendrix died. Freddy Mercury died. Right after the age of music.

What planets were in position at those decades that made this contribution and the generaiton of music peaking?

hmmmm interesting you should throw astrology into this mix. Wasn't it in the age of Aquarius that all these things occurred? Isn't that why it was a song of the time? I'm not sure exactly about the planets. I read in one astrology book however that technically, this age of music occurred in the age of Pisces, and it is Aquarius that is the age we are in presently, a time promised by the flower children to be a time of peace and harmony, but in truth, is a time of radical extremism, technical revolution and the destruction of old beliefs and religion...I think. I may be wrong though.
Truth be told, I do not have a definitive answer for you, but, I do agree. The 60's and the 70's were in my opinion the greatest times for music. The music industry excepted the new ideas of the psychedelics, but was not so easy to break into that anyone only semi-talented and who happened to have their own reality television show could put out a record. I do disagree with you however that the Beatles "invented" rock. Rock was actually a fusion of earlier jazz and blues music. Also, Hendrix died and the Beatles broke up somewhere around 1970.

well i have to say the 1960's and the 1970's were the years that produced to me the best music, but there again i was young then, and we all, well most of us, look back and think............ those years were the best
to be honest there is some good music out now, but way to much of it has the same sameness, but there are some jems.
it says a lot for some of the groups from the 60's / 70's that a lot of their music is still played today, not only played but sort after by the young generation,

this is fascinating really, i think what gave a good contribution to this is the generation born in 1943 - 1956 which are mostly teens and adults in the 1960's

in this generation Neptune was in Libra

After the Great Depression and World War II, everyone wanted to get back to normalcy. The illusion of that age was to think that if you don’t rock the boat, everything will be allright. For people born with this placement, there is a love of fairness and justice. but good ol Libra noticed the scales were tipping too much so Ironically, this generation did rock the boat during the riots and demonstrations of the 1960’s.

it was when girls wore flowers on their hair as a sign of peace, and music was everything.

Beacause the war and all the political mess people wanted to express what they felt and music was one of them and that is why music back then is more powerfull then the crap you hear these days. Drugs were legal back then

You're correct to a certain extent. Not only in music, but mankind as a whole. Space exploration was big in the sixties along with music. In the 1970's you also had good music, but you also had disco. Something wasn't lining up then. The 80's and 90's had their share of good music. Every decade will have real musicians and the music will shine on for decades. The rest, well, even the 60's and 70's had their one hit wonders.

Dear Aquarius - Actually, Rock N' Roll was invented in the 1950's, this is the form of music you are referring to. The Beatles came much later...1963. I lived throughout this entire period and witnessed everything from Jail House Rock in 1955 (Elvis Presley)...but I would attribute it to black performers even earlier...maybe as early as 1952 - 1953. There was a lot of resistance at that time to Rock N' Roll in it's early forms because it was such a radical departure from Big Band, Country & Western, Blues and Jazz which were the predominant pre-Rock era modes of music. In my (personal) opinion, every form of American music originated from the blacks...including rag-time, jazz and blues. There has not been a single American composer who has not been affected by the strength and originality of black performers...even George Gershwin. Black people have been fundamentally at the heart of the entire pop culture and have moved it along throughout our history as a country. I don't know what we would be doing if it weren't for the enormous contributions they have made to our culture and society. We certainly would be a dull society without them.
Dig back a little bit earlier in history to find the "roots."
