What's Yahoo! Answer's deal?!
Question: They allow us to have Contacts and Fans but we're not allow to acknowledge each other in our questions and answers?
I posted a question the other day that only got 2 replies, so I posted another question to refer back to original question and it cost me 10 points and a violation notice. What rule did I violate? They won't tell me. Will I get another violation notice and lose another 10 points for asking this question?

The truth is that these kind of rules are pretty weird in fact. Of course, nobody cares about whether the members understand them or not.(I once got a message about the deletion of a question which I had posted elevendy million months ago...and which, by the way, never got a violation notice)
I can only remember that we're not allowed to chat or post questions that according to other people's opinions(...and I say that because most of those who report them are totally subjective) are insulting...
Y!A people are trying to keep the site as objective as it can be(in the wrong way, I know but, they still do). Any kind of relationship is forbidden between the users (something that may sound totally crazy since they allow them to e-mail each other...)
hmm-ya got me.. they just get picky sometimes i think.. go back and read the rules.. maybe it was just a mistake.. they are not perfect by any means..happens all the time..
You should know by now as well as I that the moderators here [SUCK].

they allow such horrible questions to be posted and then when there is a regular question they violate it. happened to me too. i complained in writing and it got me nowhere!
Your responses and subsequent links to past questions probably signaled automatic scanning software search-and-destroy parameters of violation-policing as an Internet troll, or simply troll in Internet slang. In other words, you appeared to the automatic system as someone who posted controversial and usually irrelevant or off-topic message in the on line community with the intention of baiting other users into an emotional response or to generally disrupt normal on-topic discussion.
Not to mention I wanted to clear up my contacts list by posting a question, knowing that all my contacts could read and answer it so I could clean up the ones who hadn't answered...
And it got deleted and I got a violation notice for "chatting" within half a day!
I simply explained to them that as long as they didn't find another way to be able to clean up your contact list, that posting questions was the only way... of course, I never got a reply.
Not that I will miss those 10 points...
Sorry you had to find out that way that the yahoo moderators kind of suck when it comes to which questions they feel are in "violation" of their rules. I honestly didn't know that you could get a violation for trying to get a damn question answered. Yet, racist, sexist, homophobic, and other questions as such are allowed to stay up with nothing being done. Well anyway, you've now officially been enlisted into the group of "violated" yahooers. The wine and caviar will be served half past 7 =)
u cant ask the same question twice....however, if for the first time u dont get too many answers for your question you wait 4 hours and then choose a best answer....after that u can again post the same question.
but without resolving the first one u r not supposed to post the question again. otherwise, it is a violation of yahoo answers rule.
another violation u can get if u get reported by evil people....we have many trolls here who just want to harrass people n they keep reporting questions just for no reason at all.
