What sign & house represents our "ideal" profession? Is anyone here in!

Question: What signs and planets in which house would help determine the best type of work a person would be most suited and enjoy? Yeah, that's the question I'm trying to ask.

All your signs affect which career your well-suited for.

You'd look to the MC (10th house cusp) to see what the person's ideal career/working conditions would be, and to the 6th to see what kind of work ethic/how the person is of service to others, mainly. But I suppose that the first person is correct, the sum of the whole chart is important as well in seeing where the person's talents lie.

Personal example: Taurus on 10th house cusp, Sun/Neptune conj. in Sagittarius, Capricorn on the 6th, Venus in Cap in the 5th. I'm a music teacher (sun/nep, taurus, venus in 5th closing in on the 6th), I work with children for the most part (venus in 5th closing in on...), and ideally, I would be doing so at home (Taurus 10th house) as I'd be making twice as much money at it as I am now. Before that, I spent 9 years waitressing(cap on 6th...service to others and hard work!)....which I wouldn't exactly call an ideal profession for anyone, but it got me through high school and my early 20's all right, anyhow.

Missing piece of the puzzle, ideally I would work at home (taurus in the 10...comfort & 4th house sun/nep)

I would say 10th house represents your personal ideal profession - since people intend to make a career out of their ideal profession and the 10th house is the house of careers...

Capricorn is the sign equivalent of the 10th house. But that doesn't mean that any object in Capricorn says something about your ideal occupation. Even more interesting; when someone has no objects whatsoever in Capricorn, doesn't mean they will be jobless for the rest of their life - that would be insane!

So, what you do is look at the 10th house. Look at any objects in the 10th house and see how they influence your ideal career. Look at the sign on the MC cusp (which I know you know is the 10th house cusp) for an idea of what exactly your ideal profession would be. Look at the ruler of the sign on the MC cusp to see how you deal with your career and ideal profession.

It might be interesting to look at the 6th house as well; it signifies the kind of profession you usually find yourself in, regardless of whether or not it is your ideal profession.

An example; in my case the MC is in Virgo. No objects occupy the 10th house. My 10th house ruler is Mercury. According to my chart, my ideal career would be writing or nursing. Mercury is in Sagittarius which makes it a bit unpredictable and wishy-washy. Not to mention it is conjunct Uranus; I quit jobs very suddenly when I do and my jobs have a lifespan which is shorter than most of my relationships - and that is very short (incidentally, my 7th house is in Gemini, also ruled by Mercury and so the Mercury conjunct Uranus in Sagittarius has pretty much the same effect on my relationships as it has on my career...)

My 6th house is in Taurus. I have only Ceres in the 6th house, incidentally the object that indicates nurturing. (see 10th house, maybe I should become a nurse or a doctor instead ^_^) Venus is also in Sagittarius; again, I can't hold a job for much longer than I can hold my concentration.

There is another - very interesting - method that I use to look at the sort of occupations people usually find themselves in. If you are familiar with chart turning (a method often used in horary astrology to view the position of the subject asked about), turn your chart so that your 6th house becomes the 1st house and all the houses following, are numbered accordingly (7th house becomes 2nd, etc...)
Then look at the objects' positions; their positions tell you more about the "personality" of the occupations you are drawn to.

In my case, the moon would be in the 2nd house after my chart is turned. I tend to be drawn towards occupations where handling money is the primary necessity. I feel better when I handle money; as if I have an emotional need to handle money - but only in my occupation, because I don't even care about money otherwise.

Forgot to say; I work in accountancy at the moment.
