Cafeastrology.com - really one of the best sites (I am not affiliated in any way). Their free natal reports are quite comprehensive, although I don't like the synastry ones. But the most important thing is they have got loads of information on all the different aspects, house rulerships etc. All you need to do is go to www.astro.com and get your free chart done, and do your research on your aspects/houses/ascendants etc. Cafeastrology has also compiled a page on what they believe to be the best free astrology reports offered on the net.
Another great website I found was www.widgetsworld.co.uk - they do amazingly detailed natal/synastry reports. By that I don't mean the interpretations, although those aren't too bad, but they do calculate aspects for you down to the last degree.The only downside is you have to key in birth time based on the UT, but that's easily done as the astro.com reports do calcuate this for you. I'd recommend you to start of with these three, and once you've learned more about what aspects are and what your aspects mean, you can go on to google your aspects and read up on the different interpretations other websites offer.
One thing I've realised is that you can actually do your own readings because there are a plurality of websites out there that offer interpretations but don't do the calculation for you, which is when websites like widgets come in handy. Of course I know doing a reading is complicated and it would be best to consult a professional, but cafeastrology is helpful with all the complicated parts. astrology-numerology.com is good for beginners, not very comprehensive but a good starting point.

"Susan Miller Astrology". I have this site bookmarked, it's so good! She gives in-depth monthly readings you can print out. All for free. She's considered "the best" and her books are very popular, though I haven't read them yet but I know hard-core astrologers who highly recommend her.

Has quite a collection of free reports and specifics on houses. It is a very functional free site. No wierd spam and no signing up in order to get the free stuff. Just type in your birth info and way you go.
