Actually, if you really think hard about it, both Feng Shui and Astrology (Eastern, Western) work on the primary principle of balancing the elements as manifested in the black/white symbol of Yin-Yang. Incidentally, 'Feng Shui' literally translates to 'Wind-Water' in Mandarin, which makes up 2 of the elements in Western Astrology.

So yes, i would say that it is deinitely possible to merge their energies together. Some of us may have been doing so without even being aware of it. Take for example if we focus on the Midheaven of an individual (which takes into account the type of career he is best suited for), we can combine this with Feng Shui in the workplace, office, home environment (if one is more astrologically inclined to be self-employed)..

my 2 cents worth of thoughts...hope that makes sense

no!!!!

Hmmm... They are completely 2 different things.

Western Astrology is... Astrology. Compatibility between each sings, individual characteristics etc.

Feng Shui is more to the harmonious environments. There will always be you and something involved to see if things are compatible/harmonious.

I do practise Feng Shui at home. It's a Chinese thing so we can't really run away from it. And it has nothing to do with Western Astrology for sure.

I agree very much with astrolady. I study astrology and my mother is very into feng shui. I personally know nothing about it but she does base our house on it's principles. Also other things. Anyway, it is very possible to do such a thing and it's not a stupid question at all. Try it out. Buy some books on feng shui and learn more (unless you already know alot) and then just use it in everyday life. They are both about harmony and peace and understanding so I say go ahead.

i saw a book chinese astrology with western astrology. but i don't know how you can merge fengshui with western astrology - unless you merge using the 8 pillars of destiny, which is a part of fengshui. it deals with destiny calculation. i think that can be quite hard.

in western astrology i think it is pretty much generalized that when you are born, the locations of the celestial bodies are in their corresponding astrological signs. but in 8 pillars of destiny, it is much more in detail than chinese astrology. chinese astrology is a part of 8 pillars of destiny - meaning it is not the whole thing, 8 pillars is. in 8 pillars, when a person is born, you end up with the hour, day, month and year pillars - each having 2 fengshui characters, each representing an element and a polarity. in total there are 8. these react and interact with each other, and you can formulate combination (which are supposed to be lucky), and clashes (which are supposed to be bad luck or hardships). then after that, you also get a breakdown of the life of a person in increments of 10 years starting from what age did the luck of a person started. so in general, you already get the sense of being lucky or not - therefore, you can prepare for the inevitable.

in western astrology, it is basically the characteristics of the person that is being described but in 8 pillars, it is much more than that. i cannot think of how you are going to merge the 2. but it is a good idea though.
