It has no basis
The "predictive" side of it is run by charlatans largely. Psychological Astrology is the modern version; and this is more like how a map of someone's psyche would help them understand themselves more.
Because it isn't 'science fact'.... It's only fact by opinion and coincidence....
There are very few people who take astrology seriously thanks to the endless supply of idiots in the newspapers, magazines, etc., who 'claim' to be astrologers, but really know nothing about it, and they're predictions are even funnier sometimes than the comics in the paper themselves, which is why you usually find them both on the same page. Were astrology actually taken seriously and understood in all it's complexity, it would likely be seen in the Science or R&S sections. But people fear accepting or even studying something that might even slightly conflict with a Bible or chosen belief, some of which have no basis themselves other than being nice little stories passed on through the ages. That's why there's such a push these days to stop teaching evolution in schools. Sad, but true, no one wants kids these days to become individuals and reach their own conclusions about our universe.
It's because most stupid people see Astrology as pure fun and entertainment, while others use it to understand the nature of the most greatest historical figures. you name it: Hitler, the pope, Albert Einstein, genius painters, President Bush, Nostradamus, Stalin, Brad Pitt, everyone you could want. "Why was Hitler such an evil person?" , or "why was Einstein so smart?" you think those questions can never be solved but with Astrology I solve these questions in minutes time. Many, even Yahoo corporation don't understand the importancy of Astrology, neither do you.

Those daily and monthly predictions in horoscope columns in newspapers are the ones that give the real study of Astrology a bad name - it's only like the tip of the iceberg, with the remaining 99% hidden underneath the surface. That's what most people out there associate Astrology with - very sad fact. The panel on Yahoo!Answers is obviously not spiritually enlightened enough to know the difference between balooney and truth, much like the rest of the population.
Anyhow, it's comforting to know that there are more spiritual New Age worker bees in the making now, raising the level of social consciousness to new heights.
Who said anything about Astrology predicting things? You have your information wrong. Astrology gives a description of all 12 zodiac signs. Not the other way around. Now on the other hand Psychics predict things. Psychics and Astrology are two different things. Always remember that. There are so many people in this section asking crazy psychic questions all the time so that may be why you are lumping the two together. Nonetheless Astrology does not predict anything at all. Also, horoscopes predict things, but horoscopes and Astrology are two different things too! I don't believe in horoscopes but I am a big believer in Astrology!
