hey cuteness, There are no cusps in astrology actually. What's your birthday? I can tell you if you're a gemini or a cancer. Or you could go to a site like http://horoscopeswithin.com and go to free chart. If the sun is anywhere from 0 to 29 degrees of a sign, then it's all in the sign, no cusp. Some ppl will disagree, and it's a widely debated issue as to whether they exist or not. But i've talked to a few professional astrologers that have said that they don't exist.

a 'cusp,' means you are born between two signs and means u have traits from both sides. In your case u will have both Gemini and cancer traits.
It means you were born on the edge of a sign of the Zodiac and could be influenced by both the one you are born under, (your birth sign) and the next one.
I think it means your influenced by both signs, like born in between.
THat means your born between to zodiac signs and have both characteristics of the signs

You are one or the other, not both. If you are born close to the border of two countries, you are born in either one country or the other, not both.
If you feel like you have characterisitics of both, you probably have your mercury in the other sign. Mercury is always in one sign before, the same or one after the Sun sign.

i kind of disagree with the answer number 1.. since i am a sagi-capri cusp.. and my sun according to natal charts is in capricorn.. but let me assure u i have no capri traits.. when i was a kid i was more of a capri and now i am more of a sagi.. lol..
The Sun is only in one sign at any given moment. There are no cusps. Your exact birth time will tell you which sign you are if you are born on a day when the Sun changes signs.
There is no being born on the "cusp" -- your birthchart is a picture of the sky at the exact moment you were born: an astronomic fact. The sun is either 29%59' in one sign or has moved to 0% in the next -- you can easily check this if you know the exact time of birth.
Like a light-switch, it is either on or off ...ie the sun is either in one sign or the other
If you have strong traits of both, then possibly you have that as an ascendant or it is strong in another way in your chart.
The sun is an indicator of your inner self; other planets represent other things and there are so many things to consider in a chart - but "born on the cusp" is not one of them!

Yep agree with whatishisname now and no name.........i do not believe in cusps either. You either belong to one sign or you do not.
And people stating that they have the "characteristics" of the following sign could be due to mercury or venus in that sign, on the AC or strong aspects touching those planets.
You're born on the day before or after the change of an astrological sign.
I am born on the 21st of May. If you see the links bellow, one defines my birthday as the last day of Taurus, the other as the first day of Gemini. (Attached as proof of cusp, and confusion as to what sign someone is)
However you will find yourself as one sign or the other. In my case I am taurus through and through by the trait definition :-)
I think it basically means that you were born on a day in between two signs, though actually, you're only one. You can't be born on two days, so either you are a gemini, oryou are a cancer, depending on the exact date of your birthday.
