I don't like either group more just like I don't like any sign more. And no I'm not trying to be diplomatic, it is the truth. There's way too many negatives and positives to say one group is better.
It is odd because there are contradictions here. Capricorn is feminine, yet represents the father figure. Libra is venus-ruled but is masculine. But really the other signs do seem to fit the feminine or masculine label.
Actually, if I'm remembering correctly, the notion of gender in astrology first came up around 500 B.C. and was suggested by the great mathematician Pythagoras. Actually this "astrologitic gender typing" probably has been around alot longer. The masculine signs tend to be extroverted and sociable. They seem to be driven and communicate openly. Masculine is much like the yang principle, hence this is why the sun and moon have yang and ying associations. The feminine signs seem to be less open and more introverted. They have great drive but use and focus it inwardly.
In my opinion it seems like many men with a prominence and/or emphasis on feminine signs seem to be more "feminine" guys. Same for women with masculine emphasis; they tend to be more masculine women. Now by this I don't mean guys who act in the traditional sense like women or women who act like guys, but just that they resemble the qualities associated with the gender. I.E. emotional guys have much earth and/or water and strong women have much air and/or fire.
edit: leftie yeah I do wonder about sexuality in relation to feminine and masculine signs. I think venus and mars play in there but putting everything else aside and just focusing on gender I wouldn't really know one way or the other if many gays have huge feminine emphasis and vice versa. I would have to say that just making a guess, no. There are gays who act feminine in nature but there are gays who don't. There are lesbians who are masculine in nature and there are those who aren't. So many things, sometimes wonder if I'm a libra lol...........well it is contained in my 9th of ideas and philosophies............ :-?
My own, masculine.
Fire and Air are outgoing and active and expressive in their thoughts.
Water and Earth are emotional and conventional and nurturing.
Masculine signs are extroverts and feminine signs are introverts.
I tend to attract more masculine signs though...especially Leos, Sagittariuses, Aries and Geminis

I prefer men with water signs.......they handle the testosterone and oestrogen better....
Equally i tend to prefer females wth masculine signs ( a bit more testosterone here than girly girly girls).

There are so many things in a person's charts--I guess I'm just not intuitive enough to identify masculine and feminine in the Suns...

Having said this, how about masculine gay signs and feminine Lesbians? One has more feminine influences and the other, masculine influences.
I wonder if a person has to draw the line here. We all have the 12 signs inherent in us and react to them at some point almost on a weekly basis. Wouldn't all people react to masculine and feminine traits ?
How about the female air and fire signs ? THey are females with a masculine trait and vice-versa.
