Astrologers and the alike: what would you do in this case? (regarding compatibil!

Question: Say you do a composite chart for a couple and also do synastry. You get done and decide to compare the two. It is then that you notice something strange: they seem to tell two completely different things. They contradict on many levels. Say in the synastry there are many harmonious aspects but in the composite chart there are hardly any.

Also to go deeper and give an example, say in the synastry there are trining moons and also, person A's moon sextiles person B's mars. In turn, person B's neptune conjuncts person A's moon. So we see some pretty harmonious things emotionally in the relationship. We turn our eyes to the composite chart and see the composite moon receives 2 squares and 1 opposition and a conjunction with pluto. Not much good here.

So my question: what do you say to the clients/friends/other that you've done this for? How do you tell two people who know little to nothing about astrology what you're seeing? Or would you not tell them at all? Thoughts....

I tend to keep it simple, as astrology can take one over the edge in complexity and then, what you describe above will happen, overwhelm, and then the reading turns out sucky, cause the astrologer has all these bits of irrelevant or relevant? info floating around in her or his brain, and it takes away fm that intuitive punch that MAKES a reading work for the client..

Though, I do not suggest to not continue to study composites! (And this is just my own opinion, not all would agree).

Just to make it worse, there are 3 kinds of composite charts, the basic one (called "midpoints"), the one based on the place where the couple met (called "derived ascendant" -- most used and most recommended by those in the biz), and lastly the "Davidson" composite chart which isn't used that much, but is still interesting to look at, if only to confuse our pea-picking astrological brains further! :-) This one would only signify the "emotional element" of the couple.

As you can see, it can get a bit far out, squee-geeing all that in. 'Specially when you've got a nice, neat synastry to work with.

In the chart you mention, you might also count up the elements & modes, and whether the Moon is fast or slow. If all this couple has got is a bunch of trines and all same elements, it ain't gonna last. They will peter out with boredom sooner or later...which may be what the composite chart is saying. Irritation at a boring partner. :-)

It's the squares and oppositions that bring the spice to a relationship, and without at least a little, there's no long term, continuing passion. There might be "camaraderie", but camaraderie a relationship does not make.

Last tip: when doing astrological readings, a sure fire way to lose the client is to start with all the astrological words or "mumbo-jumbo". Some astrologers think using those enhances their knowledge, and perhaps it might to a fellow astrologer, but certainly not to a poor, befuddled client. It's hard to get the hang of that, but you will get better "reviews" if you incorporate that into your readings...

Just my observations, senor. Good luck and have fun! :-)

I'd just say, that initially you will have an easy and harmonius way of relating to each other, but you may encounter some trouble spots as the friendship/relationship/whatever it is continues on. Then I'd elaborate on the most important aspects that you've discovered(good or bad) in both the composite and synastry chart, and explain to them how to watch out for the negative. With the positive aspects I'd say, that this right here would point to an ease in this area of the relationship, and this is where you might flourish together..

The composite chart is essentially a map of the relationship "itself" betwen two people, while the synastry chart I believe shows the initial interactions and attractions betweent them. Basicly with a good synastry chart, they might hit it off really well, but with an afflicted and negative composite chart, it might not last very long, and be harder than they initially thought.

I hope this helps..

edit: ya,That's my middle name, and one of my previous yahoo names was "amirion" so ppl just took the amiri out of it and starting calling me that.

Tell them the truth. Opposites attract

You made a good point on the validity of composites and synastry charts.
The composite chart should not be used as a substitute for the comparisons. It is simply an additional tool.

I prefer doing a bi-wheel chart of the couple in question. Much safer this way Slow Genius. You can;t promise heaven if the natal chart doesn't promise it can you?

I find this often in comparing charts. One chart promises such and such a thing while the other promises the opposite. So when you put them together, everything falls into place aspect-wise.
Many so-called astrologers oversee the fact that, while the aspects are there, they forget the stressful aspects which would indicate the success or failure of the relationship and, the house placement would reveal the "WHY" of the failure.

Here is a scenario that I did on a couple. The man had bi-sexual tendencies and the woman no. Guess what happened. They got together because the aspects allowed them to work it out but, down the line, the guy became gay and she was forewarned of this.
Each planet governs an age in a lifespan and in this case, his Mars (ruling the mid 30's) indicated homo-sexual tendencies would be more prominent then.
They met at 25 yrs when everything was cool and I am glad that I based my knowledge on the actual natal tendencies, and not the combo of composite charts.
