I'd love to hear a credible argument of why cosmic behavior has any influence on my life, relationships, and decisions!.

Where the planets are or are not do not effect humans in a direct sense!.
That being said, I believe that humans can find "truth" in any set of patterns!. Bouncing beans on a checkerboard floor will reveal "truth" to a human watching it long enough!.
Which brings us to "God's Eye View", seeing things before, during and after they happen all at once!. Humans have intuition, psychic abilities, and can see patterns in chaos!.
Astrology is more along the lines of "synchronicity", meaning the planets don't do anything but show a pattern!. Humans found the patterns and started recording them, sharing them and this is how astrological information was handed down over the centuries!.
It's no more or less valid than any other divination method!. It's just one of them!. You can look at the lines in your palm, or the pattern in the iris of your eye, the "truth" lies within you!.
I always tell people that astrology is like training wheels on one's metaphysical bicycle!. We're going to let astrology go when our natural intuition is developed!.
Astrology is a tool!. It's not a belief!. If I cast a chart and it didn't match what the person was like in person I would question the birth data given!. All the times that's happened the person got the wrong birth data or lied to me outright!.
If astrology didn't "work", if I didn't see it work for the last 40 years, I'd have let it go!. But the best example I can give is my own personal experience!. I have the chart from hell!. I should have gone to jail, gotten shot, or trampled in a riot after a protest gone bad!. But I didn't!.
Why!? Because when I was a teen ager I had my chart done and had a stern warning from the astrologer that if I didn't overcome some of the difficulties in my chart my life would be crap!. I took the warnings seriously and not personally!.
One's chart isn't an excuse for bad behavior!. It's a guide to where our strengths are and where are our challenges!. It's up to us to use free will to change those things that are default knee jerk reactions that won't do us any good!.
I would have not gone for a BA in English Literature if I didn't know that a sextile in my chart pointed to a strength in writing!. I just had to work for it!. It didn't come easily like the trine that pointed to art talent!.
So the proof of astrology is does it work!? Sun sign astrology is too limited!. Only having a full chart cast can people find out if what they discover is accurate or not!.

if your looking for solid proof you wont find one, because as we all know the energy or force that its influencing us is still unkown, but the best way is to start from your chart, people keep thinking that astrology proposes only 12 types of people in the world, but thats just being ignorant and dismissive!.
if you get your personal chart, there are different aspects/houses/placements, theres billions of combination, what your "Sun sign" is which is whats populary known by the month and day of birth could be overshadowed by the rest of your chart!. so we should never base everything on our Sun sign alone!.
your a Saggitarius you say!? do you like philosophy, religion, attention!? as a fire sign im sure you have passion to know, saggitarius are truth seekers and in fact theres a lot of Saggitarius here in the Astrology section more than any other sign i think, or at least one of the most!. try to read some of the signs description and if you understand them enough youll see the characters emerge from those signs, then see if you can guess your close friends' signs!.
If you keep that train of thought on what you just wrote down on your, then this is already a lost cause!. if you just try to be open minded just a little bit, and give yourself the benefit of the doubt towards the pseudoscience of astrology,
