I know they are opposites on the zodiac wheel, but how come they are almost identical in lots of traits!?

i am a gemini that def feels alot of similarities with sags!.!.we laugh alot, understand eachothers humor, sarcastic and good storytellers!. we both get excited about the latest gossip, and we have a lighthearted aproach to our emotions!.!.
