Semi sextile aspects ???!
Question: Semi sextile aspects !?!?!?
There have been discussions on the major aspects ( conjunction, opposite , square , trine and sextile ), even the not so once to be considered minor aspect quincunx has been talked about!.
What about semi-sextile !? What if a person has say rising in gemini , sun in taurus and moon in cancer!.!.!.!.and the 3 form semi-sextile aspect, would they be considered favourable aspects !? I heard somehwere semi-sextile is mildly favourable!.!.!.but from one sign to another, say gemini to cancer, these 2 have nothing in common!.
also whats the difference between sextile aspect in a natal chart and one in synastry !?

There have been some differing views from astrologers regarding the semi-sextile aspect!. The first view is that since the semi-sextile resembles the sextile, it is a mildly harmonic positive aspect with its positive effects halved ('semi')!.
However, planets in semi-sextile aspects almost always have different modality (fixed/cardinal/mutable), gender (feminine/masculine) and elements that seem to have nothing much in common!. Because there seems to be no similarity between the signs involved, adjustments must be made before the planets' energies can be fully expressed!.
Thus, this aspect can also signify a weakness when it comes to decision-making, and indicates an area of life where a conscious effort to be positive will have to be made!. However, if we look at the bright side of things, the semi-sextile aspect is a karmic aspect and offers us opportunities to integrate the 2 adjacent signs' energies more effectively (as the signs follow the order of a cyclic process, they signify growth by making adjustments)!.
Sextile aspect in a chart and in synastry are similar, except the recipent(s) are different!. In a birth chart, it indicates how the native benefits from the harmonious flow of energies in his personality, whereas in synastry, it really depends on who is on the receiving end of which planet in the sextile aspect!. It is considered a harmonious aspect but not as harmonious as the Trine aspect because the planets are still in different (but complementary) elements and the integration of their energies need from adjustment and effort on the part of the native!.

Semi-sextiles is not nearly as powerful as a sextile or Trine, nevertheless it is a beneficial aspect indicative of certain COOPERATION that we have available, again from the outside, in problem solving!.
Planets in semi-sextiles blend their energies and cooperate with each other very nicely!.

Simply put!.!.!.!.the semi-sextile is an aspect of PROMISE!.
Aspects follow a cycle!. Sextiles are aspects allowing us to adapt and if you don't, SQAURE aspect will result by invoking stress!.
If you resolve the square, the rewards are the Trines etc!.!.
Semi-sextile will evolve to sextile!. What Denise stated is pretty well put!.
