Will they completely destroy astrology!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
First off, I have heard of almost every major astrologer in the US and England and quite a few elsewhere!. I know more than a few of them personally, so for what it is worth, I've never heard of Elbert Wade!. This doesn't mean he isn't any good, but famous he is not!. I'm not famous, and Mr Wade has assuredly never heard of me either!. But I have no pretenses about my limits!.

Secondly, astrology has a long, very long, rich history of astrologers trying to make themselves look good by tearing down other astrologers!. Although they were not the first to do so, Cardan and Guarico went after each other during the Renaissance tooth and nail!. For pure amusement, one should read up on the astrology wars in England during the English Civil War in the mid 17th century!. Being called a fraud and impostor bordered on a compliment compared to what followed!. So Mr!. Wade is engaging in a time honored astrological tradition!. Everyone is a fraud but me!.

PMAFA stands for "Professional Member of the American Federation of Astrologers, a fairly old organization that dates back to the mid 1930s!. They offer exams at various levels!. Anyone can join and stick the letters AFA after their name!. I couldn't determine what is involved in getting to add PM in front of the AFA, but I didn't try very hard!.

The fact is there is no one certification program that is almost universally accepted amongst astrologers!. NCGR offers perhaps the best known one, but there are others in other nations!. Being certified is no more of a guarantee of competence than not being certified is a guarantee of being incompetent!. In fact when NCGR decided to offer a certification program the first thing they did was grandfather in the members of the program as certified!. There are more than a few "certified" NCGR astrologers that never took the tests!. Again this doesn't make them bad astrologers or good ones for that mater!.

Mr!. Wade is promoting himself and being capitalist swine myself I see nothing wrong with this, by promoting what he claims are his credentials!. If he stopped there, it would be no problem!. A client or student could investigate the man and make up their minds as to his abilities!. It's the attacks on everyone who does not see things his way that is suspect!. If you're good, you're good!. You don't need to tear down others personally or anonymously, much less predict the doom of the art because of the existence of those without PMAFA or NCGR Level whatever after their name!. Your work should speak for itself!.

Is certification necessary!? This always makes a good after dinner argument!. I'd argue against it!. The problem with certification is that the programs are usually run by people who like to run things and force their views down others throats!. They tend to be frustrated small town politicians!. The best interests of the art may not manifest at all since that is one and the same with the best interests of the certifiers!. I saw an old NCGR exam once and thought it ranged from uninformed to outrageous!. Yet if one varies ones thinking beyond what NCGR wants one to think, there will be no certification by NCGR!. Unless these certification groups can prove their superiority beyond doubt, they are simply hustling their opinions!. This isn't the worst thing in the world either as long as it is not accompanied by the all too common hubris!.

On the other hand, it is also true that anyone with a copy of "Heaven Knows What" stuck under his arm can hang out his shingle and it is pure caveat emptor (let the buyer beware)!. Still I prefer this to bland uniformity!.

Astrology is nearly unique in that it is judged by its frauds not by its successes!. Apparently even other astrologers do this!. Everyone knows that out there somewhere is a licensed doctor practicing medicine who is unfit to care for a dead parakeet!. Yet when he is exposed, no one condemns medicine!. They condemn the doctor and perhaps whoever it was that stupidly licensed him!. The same is true for lawyers, engineers, teachers, and architects!. The best known case or the one that comes to mind is the quack psychologist who cared for Beach Boy Brian Wilson to the point where he was running his life and relieving him of good portions of his income!. The board that licensed this fraud eventually yanked the license, but it took a long time for them to see what was plain to everyone else!. No one criticized the field of psychology as a result (Well, I did)!. Yet if an astrologer did that, there would be indignant howls of protest followed by demands that all of us be pilloried frequently, if not imprisoned for lengthy periods of time!., or worse, forced to watch PBS documentaries on Nostradamus!.

That's life, we have to live with it and the frauds, and we also have to live with Elbert Wade PMAFA who is probably harmless enough, and maybe even good at what he does once he climbs down off his soapbox!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

The person that has this website call himself certified as an astrologer!. He claims that others are frauds on the science-art astrology based on this statement!.

Astrology is not a science (debatable if it is "art")!. For to be, it has to be able to be tested!. As a consumer we still have to take their word that they are legit!. There are no so called astrologers that are willing to submit to scientific testing!. Even just to make sure of no self-deception!. also astrology's claims can and have been tested!. Often!. It fails to do better than random chance!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

There are frauds in almost evey aspect of life!. I can't tell you how many corrupt preachers I've come across!.!.lol!. I don't think that the fakers or cons have the power to destroy astrology as a whole!. Some people's beliefs may start to fall apart but for the most part if you believe strongly enough in something you'll still believe in it regardless!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

If you look at it, astrology has existed for so many, many years already!.
It must have it's significants and personally, I do believe and have felt it!.

I don't think astrology will be gone or disappear unless all man-kind cease to exist anymore!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I think most of us here are just enjoying each other's company!? As far as I know, most astrologers do this for a hobby, not for hire!. As someone else pointed out, there are frauds in every profession!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

We can hope!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
