Question: How are we suppose to feel!?
good about ourselves, and even beautiful and accepted when the media is giving us EXACT description of what beauty!. it is so limited and cruel
i am aware that throughout the years, fashion and trends existed, but it was more inspiring and in order for people to feel more presentable rather than rejected!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

The media makes us focus on perfection, youth and beauty!. That's how they sell their products!. It's also how they ruin many lives!. Very few can live up to "perfect" standards!. How shallow!. The media is no different or better than politicians and their politics!. Screw the media!. Know who and what you are!. They would have us all alike with no differences or uniqueness!. That is true beauty!. someone who isn't afraid to be themselves!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

some of the people who have answered are right in my opinion!. it boils down to how strong your intuition, mind and confidence is!. some people who cant think for themselves are likely to get carried away by almost anything that can influence them!. that can include the media!.!.!.!.!. it might be cruel, sure, but anyone who has a sense of reality, who knows there are more important things to focus on will not get carried away; they'll just dismiss the media as nonsense that is a waste of time for the most part (theres definite exceptions)!.!.!.!.this is the way i have been approaching it with the presedential elections!.!.!.!.!. i got tired of having the sorry excuses for candidates being shoved down my throat!.

then ive also heard the one about video games and violence!. in this one, it makes me mad that many irresponsible parents who couldnt teach and educate their children with morals find this as their excuse to cover their irresponsibility!. any kid who has been raised with morals and even only basic manners and education knows the difference between right and wrong, and that builds intuition as well as good sense of judgment!.!.!.then they wouldnt let a stupid little video game influence them to do stupid things!. its about the parents and how they raised their children!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Who cares!. Thats the problem!. People care way too much!. Im trying to pay my bills !. You have to step outside of a box!. if people did what they were supposed to do like work, go to school, pay bills then you wouldnt have time to worry about the "media"!. The media is not giving us anything!.People are taking from it it!. Its a big difference!. People need to get real and stop blaming the media for how bad they feel about themselves!. If there was no such thing as the "media" then people will find something else to blame their insecurities on!. In other words Stop Hatin'Www@Enter-QA@Com

I Think Monique is right!. You have to step out of the box!. Only YOU can control how and what you feel about yourself!. Only YOU can be an example to your children!. Thats why its called SELF-esteem!. How you feel about your SELF!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Onr of the reasons for all of the eating disorders people have is the media's tendency to glorify size 000, etc!.

The skinnier one is, the better, it seems!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

You simply stop blaming the media for your feelings and accept that it is your perceptions that are causing them!.

Please don't take everything you see or hear to heart, make up your own mind!Www@Enter-QA@Com

I'm not sure why this is in the horoscopes section!.

I feel your pain!. The media degrades women!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Shouldn't you post this in Psychology or!.!.!.anywhere else!?

It has nothing to do with Horoscopes!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I think the 'origins' of feeling "not so good" about ourselves
begin a long time before we become susceptible to the
subtle "tweeking" of the media

it's very likely a "natural human tendency" to have worry
about how they **appear** to others!.

the media are easy targets as abusers, since they have
professional attitude-shapers working, designing ads
and ad-campaigns to reach deep insode peoples' psyches
in order to "sell" products, ideas, national policies, etc

however, (my opinion here) your personality more or less is
formed in outline by age 3!.

It's tough to fight the constant barrage of social conditioning
and (push-the-buttons) manipulation by borderline
sociopaths!.

maybe it results from overpopulation and finite resources!.

maybe a good "followup" question would be:
"what can a person DO about it!?"Www@Enter-QA@Com

You are right, the media has a tendency to use wafer thin models and actresses to make the rest of us believe that we are much too big!.!.!.but, if you look at it this way, the photos and videos of these "beautiful" people are often touched up!.!.!.models photographs are airbrushed so we can't see the cellulite, pimples or any other "flaws" same as the videos!. Not only that, they are paid to look like that and most of them work day and night to be that skinny - not to mention the plastic surgery - passing up the little pleasures (like chocolate etc!.) that we get to indulge in!.
Every now and then, the gossip rags give us a bit of sport!.!.!.they take photos of the popular celebs without makeup!.!.!.(heaven forbid) and we get to see just what these people look like without having had hours of hair and makeup people working on them!.
Not one of them is perfect!.!.!.not a one, it is all a hollywood magic trick!.!.!.
Feeling good about yourself is something that requires you to stop worrying about what others look like, or have done!.!.!.think about what you have accomplished, appreciate the beautiful person that is you!Www@Enter-QA@Com
