How can you tell if you have an "excess" of a certain element in your !

Question: How can you tell if you have an "excess" of a certain element in your chart!?
Some astrology textbooks talk about having a "lack" or an "excess" of an element in your chart!.

I can figure out a "lack" because there will be no planets in that element!.

But how many planets in an element do you need to have an "excess" of that element!?

For example, if someone has four planets in Air signs, is that considered an "excess" or just a good amount!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
It all has to be seen from the whole chart's perspective!. Since there are about 10 planetary placements in the natal chart, a person with 4 or more planetary placements in a particular element would be considered having an 'excess' of that particular element!.

So taking your eg, if a person has 4 more more placements in the Air elements and a lack of planets in the Earth element (0 or 1), this would be what is typically branded as an 'Arihead' in Astrology - mathematical, very logical, brillaiant, musical, social, well versed and read in almost any topic -

However, the downside is that they are likely to be devoid and out of touch with the feeling side of their natures (unless they have a significant amount of Water placements to counteract that) or lack the stability, practicality, staying power to see or finish projects through (unless some significant Earth placements in the chart cancel this tendency out)Www@Enter-QA@Com

an example of excess is like if your sign is gemini wich is air sign and your rising sign is aquarius and moon is libra that is the only way you can have an excess is this ways!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I am curious to hear the answer as well!.

What if your sun, rising, mercury, and mars are all Libra!? Would that be excess!?Www@Enter-QA@Com
