Rising and Midheaven aspect ?!?!

Question: Rising and Midheaven aspect !?!!?
Is there any other aspect that Rising and Midheaven make to each other beside the square aspect !?

All I have seen is that Rising and Midheaven either square each other or not making any major aspect at all !?
Is there a meaning to this !? Why rising has to square MC !? Our public image/projection is often square with our career's path !? I am just being puzzled here thats all!. Is there a reason why MC and rising couldnt be in harmony with each other !?

( I know rising and MC are often 3 houses apart though which make them square each other )
Any personal thoughts !?

Thanks in advance !.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Hi Ryan,
I will be back to answer later, but I just want to convey this one thought!. I believe that the public image is the 10th house (also the career) which can be quite different then the personality!. The personality is more of a 1:1 relationship - a personal image which may or may not be in sync with the public image!. I'm sure you have met people in the medical field who have a horrible or wonderful public image or reputation, but once you get to know that person in a more relaxed setting, you see a completely different personality!.

Okay, I just flipped through my collection of charts, and 90% were either square or no aspect, however, there were two charts with trines and one chart with a sextile - oh, and all with Placidus house system!. My guess is that when there is a connection, easy or hard, the personality if more involved in the success of the career path and the public image (e!.g!. comedian, motivational speaker, teacher, salesperson, artist, author, etc!.) You can have a personality that does not contribute to the success of the career, although it may help if it is an easy personality (e!.g!. M!.D!., nurse, librarian, computer analyst, scientist, researcher, mechanic, etc!.,etc!.)

Okay, when I talk to you, you will notice my Cancer rising more because we know each other!. However, my public image is more Aries-like!. You might notice that with some of my Q&A!. My public image is more fiery and sometimes confrontational, until I am more familiar with people and then I will behave more gently!. I give you this as an easy example because there is a stark contrast between my Asc & MC!. You may not be able to distinguish it quite as easily in your own chart!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

count!.!.!.1,4,7,10th houses all usually are in the same modality, with the 1-7 axis squaring th 4-10 axis!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Hi Crabbie,

This basically boils down to the limitations of the Equal House system theory used in Astrology!. If an astrologer were to use the Equal House System where all the Houses take on 30 degrees, then it'd be impossible not to have a squared aspect in this case!. But if you've noticed, the system like the one used on www!.astro!.com doesn't use this system and it can produce birth charts where the Asc actually trines the MC harmoniously!.

For such a case to happen, an individual has to be born in a certain timezone and location, whereby the chart generates Houses of vastly different sizes, esp!. those found in the last quadrant (10th, 11th, 12th Houses), whereby one or 2 Houses are much wider than the rest!. In such a case, it is possible for this quadrant to extend itself up to 120 degrees in order to accomodate a trine aspect between the Asc and MC!.

As for why the typcical Asc and MC are in squared signs, here's my take on it!. First of all, these are found in the Cadent Houses which indicate leadership qualities and an amount of self-assertion and initiation!. Where our personality (1st House) and career/social standing (10th House) are concerned, we need to take initiative or things would never get done!.

However, as much as they contribute to our sense of well-being and individuality, they can also work against each other!. Consider my e!.g of Asc in Aries and MC in Cap, my Aries Rising wants to have it all with a 'me-first' attitude, ignoring what others say, whereas the MC in Cap needs to take into account the consequences of its actions, peopke's opinions etc!.

Hence, there is often a clash of interest here - between individual and group interest - for where the MC is concerned, our social standing/career depends largely on how we get along with others, as compared with the Rising sign, which basically takes into account our own individual self-interest first of all, as we learn to interact with others from that perspective!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
