Astrology and Ethics?!

Question: Astrology and Ethics!?
Any credible Astrologer has a formal education!. These educational bodies possess, teach and support a code of ethics and philosphies!. Most are pretty much the same!. But there are some variables

The philosophy I studied under does not allow an Astrologer to do a complete Natal Chart on someone without obtaining their permission first and I must also explain what I will see when I interpret their chart before they agree to an interpretation!.
The exceptions to this rule!?
- If the person is under 14 I can do a Natal chart if their parents request it
- The person is dead (obvious)

Why do you think "my" code of ethics has these requirements!?

What do you think of this!? Do you see a need for an ethical code!?

If you have studied in formal astrological teachings - how does your code of ethics differ!?

Answers:
I have never had any "formal" training in astrology, but here is my personal ethical code!.

I no longer do babies' charts!. Early in my career, a couple of times, I did a chart for newborns!. No more!. I think the parents should discover who the child is on their own!. But, if parents came to me with a sick child and wanted medical or health info from the chart, I would do it!.

Before I do a chart, I do explain what they can expect to hear or not hear from a reading!. Sometimes married couples come to me and want their readings done together!. I explain to them that there is a lot of deeply personal information involved in a reading, but sometimes they want to sit in on each other's readings!. I do as they desire!.

I will not do anyone's chart reading without their permission!. I have had people call me with someone else's birth information!. Sorry!. No go!.

I will discuss chart info with my astrologers' workshop that I attend once a month, but the name is removed!.

also, I wish I could avoid family readings!.!.!. but it is almost impossible!. My brother, my sister-in-law, my wife!.!.!. I have looked over their charts fr0m time to time when they have asked, but I do always preface it by telling them I may have unconscious agendas in me that might affect the reading!.

Basically, I consider astrologers' ethics very similar to psychiatrist/psychologist ethics!.

ADDED LATER:
I have Level III Certification with the NCGRWww@Enter-QA@Com

I studied with a professional Astrologer and the ethics I learned was the same as yours!. And ,in fact, I was told to stress that the chart was NOT for fun, that it was a serious undertaking!. That was why I was instructed to expect payment!. People take things seriously if it costs them something!. I do think this code is necessary, if more folks used it, the general public would learn to take it more seriously!. Www@Enter-QA@Com

Well, it just sounds like common sense to me, really!. Creating a birth chart for someone you don't have permission from is really intrusive, don't you think!? Www@Enter-QA@Com

Well, you don't mention where you studied!. But a good site to answer your question is AFA - American Federation of Astrologers!. You'll find the code of ethics posted there!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

u r correct ,,that was in good olden days!.but now the code says either have fun or money!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
