Is it fair to get someone's birth information when you first meet them?!

Question: Is it fair to get someone's birth information when you first meet them!?
Or would you consider this an invasion of privacy!?
Or an psychological advantage over that person!?

Would you consider this unethical!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
Not unfair or unethical just kind of weird!. It's none of my business!. I don't ask!. If someone's birthday comes up, I might look it up in my ephemeris to see how it might relate to my chart!. But I don't look any further than that!. I accidentally found out my boss's birthday before I met him!. You bet I looked at his chart!. Of course I don't know the time and place so the info was a bit limited!. It was funny that in a company meeting this week he said something about himself that I knew six months ago!. It depends - I personally think if I tell a person that I'm asking for time and date of birth, for the purpose of looking at their charts, say it's confidential, and respect their privacy (do not share the information with anyone), then it is not unethical!.

However, if I do all of the above things to attempt to gain an advantage over the person, that would be unethical!. I simply am curious about people and want to know how to interact with them better so I will occasionally ask for someone for their birth data!.

I probably would not ask a potential date for their info right away, I think it would be unethical to act interested in a person and then disappear if the synastry was not good enough for me!. I think the salient issue is that someone savvy in astrology must be very careful to act ethically with another person's birth data!. I could raise dozens of different scenarios but everything is dependent on the reader behaving him or her self!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

ooh good ethical question, Irish!.

As astrologers and / or students of astrology, it gives us a bit of an unfair advantage to have this information when we first meet someone!. Yes, I would consider it a bit of an invasion of privacy, unless the birth information was obtained in the light of honesty!. imo - it would not be ethical to obtain the birth info clandestinely and study the person without that person's knowledge!.

However, as astrologers, I think we are generally more interested in learning about what makes people tick!. We care enough to know this information, whereas, most people simply don't!. So, maybe what we do with the information is more of an issue then actually having the information!. For example, I obtain information to learn about someone so I can further understand Astrology or help a particular person, but if I use that information as ammunition to hurt someone either privately or publicly, it would be wrong to do so!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Hmmm!.!.!.!.!.good question!. I don't know if I'd go so far as to call it unethical, but I think that it would be a biased way of getting to know someone!. I think it is an advantage in many ways to try and understand a person, but I tend to like to follow my own intuition and gut feeling and find out what makes them tick later on!. If I were to try and know someone based off of their chart, I'd feel like I was cheating!.!.!.Like I would never get to know that person privately!.

However, I don't see anything wrong with looking up someone's chart as long as you don't abuse it!. If you take the information as a form of intrigue it's one thing, but if you try to invade their personal space then it is another!. Www@Enter-QA@Com

Irish - I completely understand your question BTW

Actually, I don't make a point of it at first!. I think the mind is a powerful thing and I try to start with a clean slate, although I am human!.!.!.not perfect!. If the relationship becomes a "relationship" of course I will eventually learn his BD!. If it gets to a point where I feel like I need some insight to see how he views things I have looked only at the planets, but not his real natal chart unless I ask!.

But most of the time I don't want to know!.

Added later - I forgot to mention, if they ask me I do it (sometimes they want it) also, if I do ask them - I have a close family member do it BTW and then I look at it later BUT they refuse or get paranoid or weird when I ask (for insight) it has always been a horrible signal, horrible!.!.!.!.!.they have something to hide that is serious!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

LOL - Irish - I just came in on that last edit to Florida!.!.!.!.LOL!.!.!.!.

Now to answer your Q - lol -
I don't really think so - I actually had a customer ask me what my ascending sign was the other day at work - lol - I was a bit surprised and a bit flabberghasted at the same time!.!.!.but I went on to answer and she went on to share the same info and why she felt the urge to ask - I think she was just as surprised that I knew what she was talking about! LOL!
But honestly, if I would have had a 'weird' feeling about her - I would have acted 'dumb' and said I had no clue!.!.!.!.I think it depends on the situation and the person!.!.!.lol!.!.!.I am a little famous for feeling out the situation and people before I respond!.!.!.you just never know!.!.!.!.and I respond differently to different people and situations!.!.!.!.
For the most part (in my experience)!.!.!.I think some people get a little weirded out when someone asks them - either because they don't honestly know and afraid to admit it or they do feel it is personal! But some people are open and more than happy and willing to share that kind of information!.!.!.lol!.!.!.you just never know!.!.!.!.I wouldn't want someone to ask and seem as though they were 'prying' in some weird way! And I wouldn't want to seem that way to others if I were to ask - so I kind of rely on my intuition and instincts!.!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
