Hahaha, I do that too!.
Sometimes I start laughing uncontrollable and the person looks at me like I'm crazy or something!. xD

Sometimes I constantly fix my hair and stuff like that!.

Depending on the situation!?!? - Usually silent and observe until I am comfortable or if I am really off guard I will verbalize it and just say that I am uncomfortable or nervous - better to just identify it and be real!. I may not know 'why" at the moment it occurs!.

Ask a few questions to get people talking!. Or if I don't feel like being in the conversation then I will just silently observe and smile when people look at me!. Oh yeah, most times I have my kids so they help as buffers too cos they are always coming up needing something or being cute so it's a distraction and a buffer!.

when i'm nervous, i stay quiet the whole time unless someone talks to me!. i try my hardest to hide my emotion and i try even harder not to look like an idiot!. lol!. to get my mind off it, i sing a song in my head or i crack my knuckles a lot!.

Same as you, tNt!. When I'm nervous, I tend to smile and laugh a lot, and I often end up talking way too much!. Sometimes about really random things, speaking very quickly and hesitantly, and nodding a lot!.
