i've seen these couples happen and lemme tell you, it's not good!. sagittarius is way too blunt for the cancer, the cancer is super sensitive even if they don't seem so!. and sagittarius is the most honest sign of them all!.
they will hit it off like fire works on their meeting and so on but in terms of deeper relationship, it will come down to the sagittarius hurting cancers feelings and cancer retreating into it's shell, when it does the cancer will be hard to deal with and impossible to live with, they won't let you in, they won't tell you whats wrong and they won't give you a chance until they are ready either!.
