sure it does!. it's what your whole chart is filtered through!. like i'm an aquarius sun but with a cancer rising so I will always be that mix when someone knows me, a little bit of cancer is always there mixed in, just like in my moon and my emotions there's gonna be a little bit of cancer mixed in everything I do because it's my rising sign!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
Your moon has more affect on you than your rising does!. Your moon is your thoughts (think of how the moon only comes out a night when nobody else is around) and your sun is how you interact with people (think internal flame)!. So your rising is more of a "just a hint of this sign" type of thing!. Like, sometimes it will affect your appearance!.!.!.

i don't think it has major influence on your relationship, only on first impression and 'your meeting' you know!?
my boyfriend is a scorpio and my rising is pisces, and my sun is taurus!. we both have moon in leo and his rising is cancer!. so overall!. we matched!.
pisces and cancer are good together (first meeting) then sun comes into it, scorpio and taurus are opposites - making getting to know each other more excited because we are opposites!.!.!. then moon (the inside) we are both leo's so were the same

people keep underestimating the strength of the rising sign because they are not aware of its influence, whether were not conscious of it, it will still have its influence, and do its job either way!. so we might as well get to know it!. theres a reason why sun/moon/rising are important in ones chart!.
I personally am attracted to someone who has conjunct my rising sign, we have the same visions and we meet eye to eye!. these people would help you grow and develop as a better person, because they have the qualities of how you want to be seen by the outside world and how you portray yourself!.!. this will definitely help in your career, and spiritual growthWww@Enter-QA@Com

The western approach base on sign is not complete approach!. In Vedic Astrology we have to go in more detail, like planets, its degree, vimshottari, & gochar
(Current state of planets)
Sometimes 5-6 planets are favorable but one unfavorable planet
can change prediction & play havoc!.
So discussing only sign is half approach and can lead to wrong conclusions!.
