When considering aspects in a natal chart?!

Question: When considering aspects in a natal chart!?
Is it true that faster moving planets are ok to have a larger orb!?

Astrodienst software, which I think Liz Greene created, is using a 9 degree orb on my moon!. Doing this, they throw my mercury into opposition to my moon, and the moon trines my ascendant, completing a kite aspect in my chart!. According to their astrowiki, they use up to 10 degree on mercury or moon, if it's in a larger aspect!.

According to their information, my moon is opposition mercury with a 9 degree orb!. Other places, like cafe astrology, give the same reading, they just use a smaller orb, I think 8 degrees on those planets, so that completed aspect doesn't show!.

I'm just not sure which on to trust!. Should I consider this a weak opposition, and a weaker kite!? Or, disassociated!? Whats your experience on this, or what do you know!?

Thanks!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I personally would use a tighter orb than 9 degrees (in this case), but I have seen some use as much as 13 degrees on fast moving planets!.

I don't really consider either interpretation as inherently "wrong"!.!.I mean, they are just interpretations, and the connections between planets are essentially the same, regardless of the orb used!. Just the degree of intensity is really the question!.

And in this case, I would consider the ascendant significant, as it's sitting close and the Ascendant is one of the stronger influences in the chart!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Astro!.com uses larger orbs than other leading astrology softwares!.
About your moon opposition mercury, astro!.com acknowledges it however some astrologers might not agree!. It all depends on which theory these astrologers go by!. By more ancient theories it wouldn't be counted as an opposition, because signs are off!. Modern astrology agrees if by an aspect it forms an opposition!. it's really complicated issue!. I would say opposition is there, because I clearly see that line!.
But i do not think you have a kite formation there!. Kite formation consists of 4 planets as points, not axis!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Using a 10 degree orb for conjunctions and oppositions to Sun and Moon isn't uncommon, but a 10 deg orb for a trine from moon to ascendant is too much IMO, so I don't know that i would consider that one!. also, the opposition between Moon and Mercury is out of sign, so that's pushing it a bit too much there as well I think!.!.!.!.!.

astro's really generous with their aspects, too much so sometimes I think:(Www@Enter-QA@Com

The Sun and Moon have bigger orbs of influence that the other planets do!. The Moon and Sun have ten degrees not nine!. The Ascendant is important, so it's always considered!. Its aspects to all of the planets are important!. You need to find a trained astrologer and forget dumb websites and software!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Astrodienst software was written by the owner, a Swiss guy!. Liz Greene just writes interpretations!. She's not a software person!.

I agree with Dark Heart, tighter orbs are better!. As to asteroids, like Ceres, no orb at all should be used!. It has to be exact or there is no influence!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
