Is our western version of astrology?!

Question: Is our western version of astrology!?
kind of an expression of extreme self indulgence!?

Compatibility and appearance is one of the least important aspects of astrology, and that's the only thing 90 percent of all people care about!.

It kind of screams, 'me, me, me' in a lot of ways!. Not all people, but the general scope!.

Do you find this true for yourself!? Or others!? Why do you study it!?

Thanks!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

That is what is wanted here!. Young girls (pre-teens) especially embrace this and they are most likely to be the ones that spend the money!. Astrology does have a target audience!. The romance of the stars is intriguing and seductive!. Being based on time and place or birth makes astrology seem unique!. Who does not like the personal touch!?

I just prefer reality!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I'm a busy girl - have learned much about my own chart and haven't had much time to look into anyone else's!.!.!.!.!.just starting to though!.!.!.lol!.!.!.!.so for me, yes - it's all about me and my experiences - I speak for myself and have a difficult time speaking of the actions and experiences of others - only they know the truth of their experiences!. I have nothing more to base the information off of except myself!.!.!.!.I am my own prototype so to speak when it comes to hypothesizing and theorizing the aspects and influences in my own chart!.!.!.!.!.so yes, when I refer to astrology, placements, aspects and so on - I initially always start with my own chart (since I know it more than any other) and wouldn't want to speak of things I may not be correct in my own assumptions!.!.!.!.!.!.I see nothing wrong with that!.!.!.!.not that I only care to speak of myself - but I have no other base to go from at this point!. I initially started looking into it as a 'self-help' tool! Has been very helpful and interesting! Looking foward to learning more!Www@Enter-QA@Com

Our western version of astrology, like all other versions, is pure junk science, nothing more, and is based on absolutely nothing except tradition (mostly misunderstood) and voodoo!. The best versions deal strictly in vague generalities and wish-fulfillment and still find plenty of suckers to swallow it!.

The amount of gravitational force by each of the planets, moon, etc!. can now be scientifically calculated quite exactly, and none of them exert even the amount of "pull" exerted by someone else when they walk past you!.

And, of course, what possible connection with gravitational pull have with one's personality or future events!? Obviously none!. And just checking several people born on the same day at the same time quickly reveals no similarities whatsoever!. Just check hospital records in any large hospital and see if all those babies born at the same time turned out the same!. It's been done numerous times with the same result -- zip!.

Astrology is simply a time-waster for those with little education and too many insecurities to mold their own future!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I don't for myself!. I mainly like to analyze the hard aspects in my chart or another person's chart!. I think trines are probably already evident to a great extent!. I like to look at what the challenges are in a chart!. Especially mine!.

@chain - I agree with everything you said except your reference to young girls!. I don't understand why you think only young girls like astrology!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Just my personal tastes!. When I was a kid, one of my favorite places to go was the zoo!. I thought those animals looked cool and mysterious!. Each having its special features made me curious, also I wondered why there had to be animals at all on earth if they did not provide me food!.

Since the age of 3 I also remember doing comparisons in many aspects of my life!. Among other things I remember being fascinated with dinosaurs and rare stuff!. I was in love with the dinosaurs' legendary status and unparalleled size (until i heard about the blue whale and then I started to hate the whale for having spoiled it)!.

At that time I had met one hundred persons at most!. At six years old though, I started having girlfriends in spite of myself and not understanding so well what love was all about!. I was compelled with many things and tried to avoid new situations in order to protect my future and being able to understand my surroundings!. That was not necesseraly due to my personality, perhaps rather to my mom's husband who was sending warnings all the time to people around him and yelling like an baboon when we did not agree!. I thought dude, he looks so much like a baboon from the zoo!. That is how I got started with a possible relationship between humans and animals, and understood where those totems came from in the zoo!.

Moreover my mom was fond of astrology, and had lots of books about magic that did not seem to work!. That is how I got started!. I did not read Darwin until I was 16: then the gap was filled!.

I later studied sciences of nature at school, and that's when I heard about the incapacity of scientists to unite their knowledge as Einstein wanted to!. I also learned to doubt, thanks to those philosophy courses!. Eventually I went beyond doubt and started building answers myself!. I approched chinese astrology and wondered how it would be able to define one's aspect from its year sign!. Though i did not acknoledge their methods I recognised the different traits on people and started to rank them by myself!.

Besides that, I looked for a relationship linking my knowledge of sciences and astrology, and one that might explain how planets could influence our looks, knowing that such knowledge was once united under the banner of folklore!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
