The bee part is to explain the act of sex without saying the truth. Basically, a bee will take pollen from a flower and put it somewhere else to make more flowers grow, much like sperm is put into a woman, but less graphic and more G rated. The bird part relates to the conception of a kid. Instead of admitting that kids are pushing through the woman's "flower" :), they say the woman will have a baby come out of an egg. I never understood that part, but I guess that way kids can imagine what they want to without knowing a woman pushed a baby out of her vagina. Hmm, that is so 1950's but I can see how it is more amusing to kids than the true perverted and bloody version, lol.
