After all, as a society we are very much concerned with reducing energy costs and using renewable resources (guinea piggies eat the grass and then fertilize the lawn with their poopies, thereby sustaining the natural cycle.) Guinea pigs tolerate the sun best in the spring and fall, before it's either too hot or too cold.
Assume there are no cats, hawks or any other predators in the immediate area. No Peruvians looking for dinner, either. Do keep in mind some guinea pigs will get sidetracked and also be busy making little piggies, but this is in their nature and it's essentially a moot point.
