There is only one solution & it is a practical & apt!

Answers: Divide the eggs up into three groups, three eggs in each group.

Take group (1) and group (2) and weigh them agianst each other. Leave group (3) aside. If one group of eggs is heavier than the other then you know the group which is lighter has the egg in it. If both groups (1) and (2) weigh the same, then you know the egg is in group (3)

So now this is how you figure out which group the egg is in. Take which ever group you know the egg is in [we will say its (3) for these purposes only]

Next you will choose two eggs from group (3) and leave one to the side. Weigh them agianst each other. The one that weighs the least is your rotton egg. If both eggs weigh the same then you know that the egg left to the side is your rotton egg. Source(s):
my brain eat it
weigh it
vomit it out If it's rotten, wouldn't it smell? smell the eggs no need for scales? really really easy
1 johnny divides the eggs into 3 groups, in every one are 3 eggs.
2 johnny weighs two of the groups and lets one on the table. if the weighing scale tips over then the rotten egg is in the other group. if it doesn't then the rotten egg is in the group on the table.
3 johnny weighs the group in which the rotten egg is, like this: two eggs each on one arm of the scale, and one is left on the table. if the scale doesn't tip, the egg is on the table, if it does, it's on the scale that's higher.

problem solved, now give me my 10 points!:)
